True that an 18 y/o is considered an adult.

Don’t know if law in TX has changed, but when I married at 19 and wife at 17 the law required signed permission by parents.

I was active duty Navy at the time and we married about 3 days before her HS graduation.

Was a really bad decision on my part. Only lasted about 8 years. Wife #2 and I lasted more than 25 years!

Probably because she was 17. I needed my parent’s signature to join the Army Delayed Entry Program at 17 but just my own to go active duty a year later.

I forgot to say the law in TX at the time required anyone below the age of 21 to have parental agreement to marry.
