Real-estate magnate Donald Trump isn’t backing down amid a firestorm over his remarks panning Sen. John McCain’s (R-Arizona) war record.
Trump drew widespread criticism on Saturday after he said McCain is “not a war hero” before reversing himself on the claim. During the Vietnam War, McCain was shot down and held prisoner for more than five years.
Almost all of Trump’s fellow Republican presidential candidates fiercely criticised Trump for the comment and some veteran political observers said he needs to apologise.
But Trump believes they have it backwards: On “Fox & Friends” Sunday morning, Trump said McCain should apologise to his supporters for calling them “crazies.”
“A week ago, I had thousands of people in Phoenix, Arizona, talking about the whole, horrible situation with illegal immigration,” Trump said. “We had thousands and thousands of people. And he called them ‘crazies.’ He insulted them. He should apologise to them, by the way. He insulted them and then I insulted back.”
Trump had the same message for McCain on ABC’s “This Week.” According to a transcript, he said: “We had thousands of people and he said they’re all crazies. He called them crazies. And frankly, I think he owes them an apology.”

Trump just took control.
Now, he should associate John McCain with the evil, traitor, John Kerry, who both joined in the Senate to scuttle MIA and POW/Vet bills that were crucial to veterans and MIA families. Most knowledgeable POWs and Vets hate McCain for all the evil he has done, all the while getting elected only because of his POW status which covered up all his lies and corruption.
Not to worry, some of us cheering Trump on are going to vote for Cruz in the primary. We are just enjoying Mr. Trumps’s performance with the press and his exposing of the employees of The Cheap Labor Express within the GOP.
Cruz is my guy, but I am absolutely thrilled Trump is taking it to them. It’s hard for the PC police to do their job when they have somebody so in their face. He is taking the wind right out of their sails and that includes John McCain.
Trump can win if the people hold on. I think this media onslaught is all about illegal immigration and the rich and powerful want their way and are used to paying off politicians and MSM to get it.
If they get rid of Trump I expect Cruz will be next...and then get ready for jebillary.

McCain returned from Vietnam. A lot of men who WERE war heros because they helped save the lives of others, did NOT come back. They died in the war.
McCain has been milking this war hero personification for decades. It’s over. Stick a fork in it.

Better yet he got 28 medals for 20 hours of combat time. That's one medal for each 42 minutes of action. that's the big lie in this story also.

People also forget (or probably don’t realize) that the media, RIGHT NOW, would be piling on the conservatives with hit piece after hit piece - but they’re so tied up with Trump, they have no time for it.
So Trump is also slowing down the Democrat game plan in that manner...along with driving them up the walls.
