Do not blame Cruz for this. If he did not say anything, he would be attacked by media and 14 other RINO’s. Cruz also must listen to his rich donors.

"...McCain is not an American hero..."

Anyone, ANYONE, who served in our military and endured torture because of it IS IS IS an American HERO.

Disagree all you want with his politics, and I do, you CANNOT disregard his service.

I really don't know how to reconcile your attitude with what I regard Free Republic to stand for.

It’s not fair to compare McCain to Cruz. Cruz has class.

Perot was pulling a flim-flam scam with the Clintons in that election. He pulled out for a reason.

Your statement, and conspiracy theory, is totally irrelevant to my statement that Perot had a excellent chance to win had he followed through and run and good campaign all the way to election day. Perot had won support that put him in a strong position.

That was 6 months out from the election. These polls had Clinton trailing, badly in some cases, yet he won. The problem is always the staying power of these 3rd party candidates. Sometimes they poll well, but as elections draw near most voters tend to gravitate back to one of the major parties - if for no other reason than to block the party they like less.

Perot dropping out and sabotaging his own campaign, as you’ve mentioned, shows precisely the kind of erratic behavior that SHOULD have prevented so many well meaning right of center voters from wasting their votes on him and throwing the election to Clinton.

If Trump ran as an independent all he would do is pull some % of right leaning voters. It is nonsense to think, in a country as politicized as ever, that Democrats, “moderates”, Hispanics, minorities, etc, are going to vote for Trump. It is also nonsense to think Trump throwing the election to Hillary would teach the GOP some kind of lesson. Neither 1992 or 1996 taught the GOP anything in particular, heck they ran Bush the “compassionate conservative” in 2000 and managed to win with it.

The photo at #30 has nothing to do with McCain’s “war record”.

I asked if Cruz supports this latest Treason of McCain’s. It’s a simple question. These are key isis and al-qaeda operatives McCain is smiling with.

You are right, Cruz had to bow down to political correctness and kiss McCain a$$. Which is why Ted stays in the Senate, if he is lucky. A profile in courage Ted is not. And now Donald Trump knows that when the going gets tuff he can count on Ted to high tail it out of town.

“Just proves Cruz to be a better man than McCain.”

Jumping into a pie fight isn’t being a “better man”.

Just proves Cruz to be a better man than McCain.

Maybe he is just a little dumb. McCain is no hero, no matter what he did in the military, what he did after cancelled any good deeds he might have done. Being proud to serve is one thing, being proud to serve with John is just wrong.

Trumpbots would rip up the Constitution to support their boy.

That is just insulting.

"I'm proud to serve alongside him"

- That is weird phrasing, considering the issue involves McCain's military service.

Personally I think everyone should.

Pretty sure Patton didn't subscribe to that notion else he would have been a loser.

The media does not need to help the republicans attack each other. That’s what elites do.

“Trumpbots would rip up the Constitution to support their boy.”

Obama already shredded it. Trump will paste it back together again. Are you on McCain’s side?

You are right Perot could have won had he not dropped out for some asinine reason. His dropping out and then getting back in showed the country he was a unserious flake.

That was 6 months out from the election.

The only point I'm making, or debating, is that Perot had raised the issues and won the support that could have won the election for him had he not sabotaged his own campaign by dropping out.

The same sort issues and opportunity exist again this go round, and Trump has an excellent chance to win if he runs a smart campaign on the issues he's raising. Whether he will run that smart campaign throughout the process remains to be seen. But he does have winning issues.

Watching that video of Cruz interview, one thing became crystal clear to me. Note that I am no newbie political junkie. I have watched every JFK/Nixon debate from my college dorm in Iowa city, even though I was not a US citizen then and could not vote. I was transfixed by charm of JFK. And I remained a democrat for another 6 or 7 more years. Well, Reagan was also once a democrat.

What is clear to me is that the MSM is petrified of Trump’s standing in polls. They know he can not be controlled by his rich donors like the other 15 candidates, because he has none. That scares them s$itless. And same goes for the GOP elites.

The DC establishment realizes if Trump becomes president, all bets are off. Trump must be stopped ASAP.

Jumping into a pie fight is not a good idea. Why Cruz felt compelled to make this statement, about McStain, on his FB is puzzling. Why enter the fray?

FWIW, Cruz AND McStain are getting slammed in the comments.
