Obama unveils plan and rules to 'diversify' white suburbs

The president who pledged to transform America has picked his next target in the country’s makeover: the suburbs.

Obama the Utopian hopes to use both the federal Treasury and the federal club to coax Americans into neighborhoods planned by bureaucrats to perfectly reflect the nation’s diversity.

The Obama administration’s long-awaited new housing regulations came out Wednesday giving the federal government more tools to make sure neighborhoods around the nation aren’t developed and populated in racially segregated manners.

The rules, issued under the Department of Housing and Urban Development, are supposed to put a stop to “segregated living patterns” and “racially or ethnically concentrated areas of poverty,” HUD said, the Hill reported.

How it works is HUD will give local communities information on how to prevent and address perceived segregated housing areas, and offer grant money to address the situation. The grant money could then be used to help diversity the neighborhoods and “expand equal access to opportunity for all Americans,” HUD said, the Hill reported.

HUD Secretary Julian Castro put it this way: “Unfortunately, too many Americans find their dreams limited by where they come from, and a ZIP code should never determine a child’s future. This important step will give local leaders the tools they need to provide all Americans with access to safe, affordable housing in communities that are rich with opportunity.”

Critics, however, call the carrot-stick trade-off of government regulations for grant dollars a prime example of federal overreach.

So, hold on .... They want access to good schools and all the amenities .... Are they going to pay the local taxes that go to pay for these things?

I sure the answer is no, And now tax PAYERS will both pay and share those amenities with those who do not pay, watching as those amenities are degraded and destroyed, along with destruction of taxpayers property.

Or at least that would be their plan, if we let them.

Hence Mt. Lebanon is filling up with NPR Wine-and-Brie Holier-than-Thou white Liberals.

I assure you they will be the first ones out there holding picket signs and screaming at council meetings when the first Section 8 megaproject in Mt. Lebo is proposed.

Then they'll change it to Mt. Lesbo.

If the political leadership in the South is as smart on this as they were on Obamacare, packing Liberal NE and PacWest enclaves with migrants under this proposal is going to happen naturally.

Remember that the ONLY way the FedGov can do this is through funding/grants. Don’t take the money, and it doesn’t apply to you.

Same exact scenario as with the Obamacare Exchanges. The Liberal NE and PacWest will greedily take the HUD money, attached strings and all. Places that show restraint/discipline and don’t take the money can sit back and watch what happens ...

My little village is in trouble. 1600 White souls and not a single negro.

With the 2000 Census they first allowed more than one racial identity. Since the family lore was that we have some Native American and some Spanish Caribbean blood, I pretty much checked off all the boxes. For 2010 my wife snatched the census form out of the mailbox before me (and she never gets the mail), and filled it out "correctly". I think she was concerned that Obama's minions would not be pleased by my answers and was worried that they would accuse me of fraud. Since then, I have gotten my 23andme analysis and so I can now prove my multi-racial ancestry!

So just because your neighbor is a tall blond with an English or Irish surname would not mean that he or she is not a Negro. A multi-racial ancestry is probably fairly common. This is the United States and it's been a genetic melting pot for centuries now.

For the 2020 Census, I think everyone should check off as many racial identity boxes as they possibly can in good conscience. That's the easiest way to kill this idiocy.

I remember the story of an upper class community classifying servants’ quarters as affordable housing in their neighborhood.
I think we’ll see a rash of houses approved for 6-8 assisted living patients approved as affordable housing for the elderly.
Mother in law suites approved and classified as affordable housing.
The halfway house for retarded adults approved because it is less troublesome than the alternative.

Free Association isn’t, never really has, been “free”.

Free Association requires all sorts of tradeoffs. Chief among them is that the people you are “free” to associate with or not are also very much “free” to associate or not with YOU.

Democracy, even (or particularly) a representative one, is an inherent limitation on Free Association.

So consider this: the ONLY way the FedGov can impose this is through funding like HUD grants. Your local community is “free” not to take them, but thats a choice that will be made using some form of democratic means.

If your elected officials decide to take the money, you and a majority of you neighbors are “free” to vote them out of office. If you can’t muster that majority, or if it’s put to a referendum and you lose, you are “free” to move away to somewhere that doesn’t take the money.

For now, communities will be offered funds. Soon, the authoritarian rules will apply to any municipality that accepts any sort of DC money.

The highest echelons of government and business will not accept gang-bangers at local schools. They will be immune from the hell of their creation.

A good mutual fund/investment pool idea would be to buy real estate in super wealthy enclaves that accept zero federal funding. Property values will soar.

In general, there wouldn’t be - in fact it would appeal to the snobs around here.

The problem with this particular location is, the building site sits above some of the priciest homes in the area. There is no way to block the noise or lights. In addition to the whole foods, there is to be mixed-use commercial and some residential patio homes. Also, it is on the corner of a very heavily travelled road (rt 19/Washington rd). It’s the main drag in these parts & is usually pretty congested.

The township board held closed zoning meetings and lied to residents. Folks who owned homes worth 500k+ are now seeing their values drop & unable to sell. Prime Example: Chuck Knoll’s former house on Warwick drive backs up to the site. It’s been sitting on the market forever.

A piece of Steelers history, and no takers, the view is that bad.

If enough like minded conservatives go to the same place, the existing demographics there would be overwhelmed, much like what is happening here.

As I posted previously, I’d like to see Chappaqua, NY (those who read the news know which couple lives here ) be “diversified”.

Looking at the map one wonders what obamao will do in places like NM where hispanics are 65% of the population and what that group of minority residents would think of being edged out ? I would get a front row seat to watch an influx of inner city blacks plunked down say in Espanola about 85% hispanic.

There is a “die” in diversity.

Folks, my little neighborhood on cul-de-sac works because it is filled with people who have similar values. They are married, work, raise kids who go to school, if not value it and plan to perpetuate these cultural norms. It has been a successful, generational model that has made America stronger, not weaker.

Now with a plan to forcefully introduce unstable elements who are diametrically opposed to these values AND NOW not allow people to move away from them? What the hell does Obama et al think is going to be the outcome?

Our national enemies must sport wood every time this guy talks about social justice. While he lays the groundwork for a second UNcivil war, our enemies plan accordingly for our internal distraction.
