Donald Trump is soaring over his GOP rivals in a new nationwide Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted amid his controversial comments about Sen. John McCains (R-Ariz.) war hero status.
According to the just-released poll, Trump with 24 percent support among likely Republican voters holds a comfortable, double-digit lead over nearest competitor Scott Walker, who captures 13 percent support.
Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, and Sen. Marco Rubio round up the top 5 with 12, 8, and 7 percentage points of support, respectively. Sen. Rand Paul, meanwhile, sits in sixth place with 5 percentage points.

No offence, but that means nothing.
The vets who think Trump shouldn’t have ‘mis-spoke’ still support him.. the rank and file that is..
Of course it sounds like you want Trump destroyed.
He may in fact self-destruct, but he’ll shake things up in a much needed way before he does. Those who thought they might get the best of The Donald in real life have usually come up losers. The braggadocio is a ‘Schtick’.. if you’re gonna make bigger than life deals you’ve got to project a bigger than life persona... Trump has mastered that.
Isn’t Trump supposed to be on O’Reilly tonight?
Stick with the wall. Repeat it all the way to the Whitehouse. The “elites” stand-down order while America is invaded is THE issue.
The total of all those percentages is 87%.
The remaining unspecified 13% must be among the rest of the bottom dwelling candidates. I’m concerned for Cruz. But frankly I think he’d be THE ideal Veep for Trump.
At the moment Trump’s political philosophy seems to be a blank canvas that some conservatives are painting with their own dreams without actually researching the positions that Donald Trump has taken in the past. Its scarily reminiscent of what many “moderates” did with Obama where they assumed that he would be this great savior and refused to actually examine his extremely radical past.
That’s gonna’ leave a mark.
Somewhat guilty as charged. I don’t trust him so I want one of the other candidates that I trust more like Walker or Cruz to pick up his supporters and unify the conservative base.
Clearly insulting McCain is a losing strategy. :)
Look at how the GOPe has treated the good people who put them in power. This is the screw you vote. Screw you Fox news. Screw you Republicrat liars. Screw you Bush pushers.
The Donald left the stage in Phoenix to the tune of Twisted Sister singing "We're not gonna take it".
That is what we are watching. Ain't it great?
They're liberal.
It's like Conservatives are at the blackjack table winning hand after hand, and guys like you want to leave and go see Wayne Newton.
It was sickening this evening to watch BOR try to browbeat Trump into apologizing to McLame and/or admitting that he was wrong; to no avail, of course.
And all the while I kept thinking, “BOR doesn’t give a crap about Trump OR McLame. He’s just trying to wring some kind of an apology out of Trump so he can claim another scalp and brag about it.”
Cruz’s numbers worry me as well. He reached out to Trump, so hopefully DT will throw him a lifeline.
great.........
Something which my veteran father, father-in-law and uncles (and son, for that matter) would consider a compliment.
Mr. niteowl77
I just am afraid that he is playing us like a fiddle.
1. He tells the truth.
2. He tells the truth.
3. He tells the truth.
4. He is not a faggy friend of Obama.
Poor Lindsey!!!
I don’t understand the drop in Cruz’s numbers either. He actually has record of fighting for us.
