Dan Rather is coming to your local movie theater. At least the story behind why he’s no longer at CBS is. In “Truth,” Robert Redford plays Rather. Cate Blanchett plays his CBS producer Mary Mapes.

Fired (technically) for lying and he participates in a movie about it called “truth”?

I can picture them dragging him away in a straight jacket mumbling “Bush.... National Guard... I know its true... you gotta believe me”

I have a copy of Bernard Goldberg’s book “Bias”. In it (and remember, it was written a while before the Docugate scandal that got Dan shown the door), there is a very disturbing portrait of what it was really like to deal with Rather on an up close and personal level. He could be a very generous and nice person but very extremely nasty and ruthless towards anyone who crossed his path (and this is how he reacted towards Goldberg’s 1996 groundbreaking piece in the Wall Street Journal about concerns about liberal bias in the mainstream press). I would not hold my breath to see this sort of thing be depicted in the movie.
And what is the frequency?
Absolutely delusional. Rather has also seemingly forgotten that his story wasn’t about Bush being in the Air Guard. It was about him being “AWOL” from the Guard and was based solely on fraudulent evidence.
Who polishes the turd to look like Rather in the action sequences?
Okay, stop that you two, I LOL’ed and the prairie dogs wondered what’s going on...
Liberals do this when the truth conflicts with their wishes.
Case in point: Sorkin’s excreble West Wing show. It’s what they wished Bill Clinton was.
Having said that, I’m proud of the part that FR played in Rather’s demise, and grateful to Jim Thompson for this forum.

They’ll show this film over and over in government schools so the kids will learn the real truth*. Wonder if FR, Buckhead, and KC Tanker will be in it?
