Iowa DOESN’T Have a “primary” we have a CAUCUS!
I know that, I live in the Omaha area. The problem is, the silly, staged, caucuses are taken as primaries by everyone else including the press and the parties. The early part of it is used as an indicator by everyone else as to who will be the probable winner to support and who has been knocked out or the running.
Then there’s the fact that Iowa has come to capitalize on all of that and helps promote a supposed kingmaker status on the state. The press and the parties manipulate this ludicrous contrivance to the sole advantage of their selected candidates.
A lot of damage is done to good prospective candidates by the insignificant, non-primary that is taken as a primary caucus. New Hampshire has done something similar with its early primary, to the detriment of the selection process.
