(CNN)Anger over Sandra Bland's death in a Texas jail has boiled over after newly released video showed what happened at the traffic stop that led to her arrest.

Now, many question whether she should have been arrested at all.

The dashcam video shows Texas state Trooper Brian Encinia pulling Bland over July 10 for allegedly failing to use her turn signal. What started as normal conversation gets testy after Encinia asks her to put out her cigarette.

You must not live in TX, because in TX, a cop can order you to put out a cigarette. It is common practice and upheld in court.

Prove it! Show me a link to a case where it has been upheld or show me the statute!

When a police officer stops you for ANY traffic violation (whether or not you AGREE) stop your car, shut up, get out your drivers’ license & hand it to him or her - don’t mouth off, follow orders to extinguish your cigarette, SHUT UP, & don’t mouth off & did I say SHUT UP !!!

Hiel Hitler. I want these asshats brought under control. Or jus fire them all.

I never said any law spoke specifically about cigs. I said the law gave the cop authority, as a lawful order, to require her to put out the cigarette. I have provided 4 statutes/laws so far, but you haven’t even provided one that says a cop doesn’t have the authority to give that lawful order.

“He knows what policy he violated. He also knows he is going to trying to explain it to a jury soon. This guy is in big trouble thanks to films.”

Just as she knows what laws she broke and what lawful order she violated, right?

“A woman has the right to refuse to get out of her car until she can check with the PD to be sure she is not being accosted by criminals in this Obama world.”

He was a uniformed officer, and where exactly is this woman’s right to refuse a lawful order to exit her car enumerated?

I’m sorry, you really don’t seem to have any idea what you are talking about, and you just seem to be rambling about with useless emotions that don’t matter a hill of beans to any facts.

If you read those full statutes/laws along with the other resources that I’ve provided, then you will find that it is the burden of the person to prove that an order is not lawful otherwise the law assumes the order to be lawful. So another words, unless the law specifically states an order to be unlawful (i.e. rape, bjs, to stop breathing, etc.) then the order is assumed to be lawful under State law.

"A person may not willfully fail or refuse to comply with a lawful order or direction of: (1) a police officer"

Show me the definition of a lawful order that allows a cop to tell someone to put out a cigarette while they are in their car. And note a cop cannot enter that car unless he has probable cause and or permission.

Not also prior arrest records do not constitute probable cause.

So he ordered her out of her car for refusing to put out her ciggy. She had made no threatening moves at this point as far as the video shows, she did however answer the question he asked which apparently made him angry.

My opinion is that he wasn’t an a$$hole, and she was.

Can a cop order you to put out a ciggy while you are inside your home and he is on the outside of it?
