Fox is obviously conflicted on this sort of issue, because of its owner's dual citizenship, and multi-national business interests. It is not a problem unique to Murdoch, although it has special nuances in his case.

There has always been a high degree of subjectivity in news reporting, however one might wish that it were not so. The most trustworthy jounalist I ever encountered was the late James Jackson Kilpatrick, when he was the Editor of the Richmond News Leader. He certainly had strong opinions--very Conservative;--but he always displayed a balanced approach to the facts. (Of course, as a Conservative, interested in preserving reality, he did not need to embroider or suppress anything. It is very different with those who have duller axes to grind.).

One of the speakers (Allen West? I think someone else) called the people in the white house “charlatans”. Two speakers (a retired Admiral whose name I can’t remember - Hodges?) and Frank Gaffney used the words “impeach” and “treason” respectively. Ret. Major Gen. Vallely gave a short talk but used the words “warriors” several times and I would highly recommend everyone listening to the whole thing. Carolyn Glick was incredible, as was another woman whose name escapes me, scholars and people who know exactly what this “deal” is. Passion and anger were at a pitch I have not ever heard before. It was electrifying.

It is edited a bit jerkily but so what.

Right. Other countries’ laws have no bearing on who would be considered a ‘natural born citizen’ of the USA.

In the case of Michelle Bachmann, I don’t think so. In other cases, it may vary; for instance, in Indonesia, it is clear that small 0bunghole would have had to ditch any purported US citizenship to become Indonesian.

Problem is 0bunghole’s actual life is not the fake life presented to the Ameican people, so all discussion of his fake life is an exercise in futility.

These facts may also pertain to why he persists in lying about when he first visited Kenya.

But who’s to say he wasn’t adopted before age five? We don’t know when he was born because nobody’s SEEN an authentic birth certificate. We don’t know when or where he was adopted.

Lolo and Ann were “together” in 1965, even though the date of their marriage is obfuscated (1964 or 1965, depending upon what official document you examine). It was reported that Lolo returned to Indonesia a year before being joined by Ann and Barry, in order to get paperwork settled. This was before Barry turned five (right before, if you accept his claimed birthdate). Could he have been rushing to adopt Barry in Indonesia before he turned 5? Or could he even have been getting an Indonesian birth certificate in Indonesia by claiming that Barry was born in the USA but was his biological son?

Then there’s always the possibility that the entire fable is exactly that—a fable—and that Barry was an Indonesian child found by Ann during the course of her anthropological work or by Lolo during the course of mapping Indonesian islands where people quite resemble little Barry, who neighbors in Jakarta thought looked Papuan and/or from Irian Jaya. Lolo had already taken in and apparently adopted a girl named Lia, who was told that Ann would soon bring to Jakarta a little boy to be her brother.

Since nobody knows the truth of his history, then anything’s possible.

As for Ann’s citizenship, even if she technically renounced U.S. citizenship and accepted Indonesian citizenship, did she then report that fact to the U.S. embassy (where she worked at the time)? Would that necessarily prevent her from renewing her U.S passport, considering her connections at the embassy?

Did she and Lolo follow the then-current Indonesian law and register their mixed marriage in Indonesia within a year of moving back there? Why did she exclude Barry from her U.S. passport shortly thereafter?

There’s also the issue of whether or not anybody can believe what’s on any of those passport records in the first place.
