Corrupt politician McCain trumps war hero McCain. my new tagline.

I don’t even like Trump, and I like him A LOT better than John McCain.
In fact, I don’t like John McCain at all, I loathe him.

...another theory: Maybe vets appreciate Trump for his fearlessness in being politically incorrect. McCain has incorporated most of the pieties of Beltway Republicans into his political persona. Trump hasnt (yet).
First of all, old Maverick prides himself in being politiclaly incorrect, so these comments are whacked out. There has to be more to it than just being politically incorrect. It's how they are politically incorrect. Trump does so with a clearly Right leaning manner, and the Maverick does it by going against Conservatives. One could say McCain's method of going politically incorrect, is to go politically incorrect against the core of his own party members. He's a jackass. There's your clue!
I also find it insulting that the writer thinks he's being clever by insinuating that it's only a matter of time before Trump secumbs to the beltway mentality. "Trump hasnt (yet)." You know folks, in time Trump may swing more Left. Is it reasoned to trash him before he does it?
The man has not only addressed things that need to be done from a Right perspective, but he has shown that he actually understands the "why" of the issues. A Leftist can spout pretty good lipservice to Right principles superficially, but they can't provide perspective on why. Do I need to tell you what moderates can do? Look at your Republican dance card and think about it. Trump can. That separates the man from the 'the boys' IMO.
Veterans might respect the guy for going his own way no matter how much heat he takes for it. Or maybe this is simpler than all that maybe, having watched Americas political class make a hash of foreign policy over the last 15 years, vets prefer someone whos outside that class to someone whos in it, even if the insider is a bona fide war hero.
Will it never end, this exhoneration of John because he served as a POW? Veterans are not basing their support or lack of it on his days in captivity. (or are they, but that's another discussion) GET OVER IT!
No one believes professional politicians anymore when they talk about making America great again.
And why is that? I'd say it's because they say one thing and do another.
No one really believes Trump when he says it either,...
Then who is supporting the man Radcliff? Are they doing it becaue they don't believe him? Man you folks are thick!
...but at least he doesnt have the stink of years of failure at the task on him.
Ya think?
These guys are experts at the back handed insult.
If anyone other than Trump were doing what he is now, a lot of Trump detractors would be jumping up and down with joy.
They don't like him, so they aren't willing to accept he may be the real deal.
Give the man a chance. Don't join this writer in delivering back-handed insults constantly.
Wait until he screws up. Then address what he has done that is wrong.

Just heard from a man who owns a convenience store and gas station, that he was a 13B. He’s about 30 years of age and said that 13B was infantry.
Oops. No-go. One of many fakes that I’ve heard bragging over the past couple of years.

Has McCain ever passed an open mike that he didn’t run to in order to spout his nonsense? Uninvited, he even suspended his Presidential bid to stick his nose where it didn’t belong....
He made a fool of himself and killed off any chance to be CIC......gave us Obama, and proved himself to be an old fool.......
Luckily he had Palin around to keep his bid from being a total rout by the Dems........and what did he do? Stabbed her in the back after the election.....
McCain, Nichol Wallace, and Steve Schultz and all go where such un-ethical/backstabbing people go...and I’ll cheer as they pass by!

McCain is inevitably going to have a hard time with two groups of veterans (which of course have some overlap): (1) those markedly more conservative than him; (2) those who dislike hawkishness and unnecessary wars. Might surprise some to hear this, but Ron Paul had notable support among veterans.

I am a vet as well. McCain is a senile, hateful and spiteful man. I remember decades ago seeing him on Sunday morning shows when the RATS controlled everything. I saw a rising star in the GOP. What a pathetic disappointment. We’re onto his sham. The jig is up and has been for a long time. Shame on him!
