OK, this is a problem...

If he is going to get rolled like this by a 2nd rate carny huckster like Mitch freakin McConnell, how will he do when he has to negotiate with Putin or the Chinese or really any other foreign leader?

Bad enough to vote for the horrible deal that the TPA is, but then to say “hey they lied to me and tricked me into doing it” just makes it worse in my book.

.

You're a complete fool ...

Mitch McConnell isn't a second-rate joker ... his Constitutional title is "Senate Majority Leader" ...

Cruz owed McConnell at least one chance to be fair, and McConnell lied through his teeth.

Ted Cruz then had the balls to publicly hammer McConnell ... on the senate floor, no less ...

Go back to "coloring" in your "book" ...

It's a matter of "Fool me once, shame on you..." Cruz said he had no evidence to not trust McConnell. Now he does.

It would be a dysfunctional Senate if everyone acted as if everyone else was lying all of the time. A Senator 's promise was currency. The deals were "vote for my bill X today and I'll vote for your bill Y next month." If you reneg next month, nobody will trust you again and you won't get anymore bills passed.

Now everyone knows that McConnell is a dishonest negotiator, at least with fellow Republicans. He probably keeps all of his promises with Democrats.

You’ve never been burned by a guy that you are suspicious of but have to work with to get stuff done?

Everybody else in the GOP just keeps going along with it. Cruz is saying, “He lied to me - I won’t let that happen again.”

Why is that bad?

As a junior Senator, you kind of have to give the party leader a chance - until you get stabbed in the back. A foreign leader - especially a hostile and/or antagonistic one - doesn't get that "one time" courtesy.
