WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fast-tracked a bill to defund Planned Parenthood on Friday because of an undercover video of a Planned Parenthood doctor discussing the donation of fetal tissue after abortions. But McConnell was one of many Republicans who voted to lift a ban on fetal tissue donations after abortions in 1993 -- the very move that legalized Planned Parenthood's actions.

In 1988, the Reagan administration began a moratorium on fetal tissue from elective abortions being used in scientific research. But Congress lifted that ban in 1993 when it passed the National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act, which allowed research on human fetal tissue regardless of whether the tissue came from a voluntary abortion. McConnell voted for that bill, as did Reps. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and Fred Upton (R-Mich.), all of whom have condemned Planned Parenthood in the past two weeks for its involvement in the practice. and since the contract with America to 2006, he has voted party over principle...and he tells Mother Angelica and the millions of viewers on EWTN otherwise. He sold his soul to the devil...yes, it still shows he has a pro-life record but the National Right to Life and the other agencies do not add Title X funding as a separate item to be graded...

One fact is absolutely DAMNING of Bush and the Republicans in Congress: They never lifted a finger toward removing abortion from the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

Reminds me: Sanctuary cities are NULLIFICATION in practice. Why has it never occurred to ANY “pro-life” governor to make his state a “sanctuary state” for the unborn?

I wrote a letter to John Hoeven saying basically this, shortly after he became Governor of North Dakota. He never answered, but he did talk to someone who knew me, and his reaction to my letter was absolutely incomprehension.

Which reminds me: What a DISGRACE that the March for Life invited Cardinal O’Malley to celebrate Mass and preach this last January. Puke! They don’t remember the canonization of Ted Kennedy at which O’Malley presided? And O’Malley’s determination to destroy the pro-life movement through mass invasion by pro-abortion voters?
