Trump slams Walker as governor leads in early voting Iowa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump opened up a line of attack Saturday on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, accusing the leader in recent polls in Iowa of running his neighboring state into financial trouble.

It's the latest broadside against a rival of the outspoken New York billionaire. Last week, Trump went after South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham for calling him a "jackass." The New York businessman has characterized other candidates as unfit for the office and said the party's 2008 nominee, Sen. John McCain, was not a war hero in spite of his years as a prisoner in Vietnam.

Spurred on by a raucous audience of more than 1,000 at a central Iowa high school, Trump said Walker has an advantage in Iowa because he's from a neighboring state but that the edge is undeserved because Walker has mismanaged Wisconsin's budget.

Regarding the bankruptcies, I knew about some of them, but irrespective of the number, and independent of whether he should have been able to avoid them, I have to say that I respect anyone who has the personal steel to recover from crisis - whatever the crisis. It’s not easy, and gets harder the older you get - IMHO.

Thanks, datura. I think I may have seen a snippet on that but must have missed the main story.

“One of his fund-raisers did (called Trump “DumDum”). That’s about all I have heard. I don’t see Walker himself getting distracted or drawn in by this. It’s not his style. “

Thanks, Dr. Sivana.

So he’s been waiting to attack the one the Dems fear most. Trumps a menace, mendacious and a Democrat.

“I think Walker released a press release (probably by a rogue, staffer) that called Trump “dumbdumb.”

Not a good idea to attack someone like Trump who will bring all out nuclear war on you. If the staffer is still with Walker, I assume he has been given instructions to zip any further criticism of Trump in the future.

“No, Walker and one of his big sugar daddy attacked Trump. Get a clue Repubs. Do not attack The Donald. He uses brass knuckles.”

Right you are. The brassiest of knuckles.

“you missed it”

I did indeed. Stay away from FR for just a short while and you find you’re behind 2 or 3 news cycles.

Just what the US needs is more central planning. Look what government’s done for us so far.

The idea is to stop our American companies from shipping their factories overseas.

Why not start with reducing regulations and taxes driving them out of our country first?

“Walker called Trump a “Dummy” in print—Trump asked him to change the wording—he refused and Trump has lowered the hammer on him. Don’t insult Donald or he will hit back.”

Yes, the Donald does not sit back and allow himself to be pummelled. That’s one of the things I like about him.

i meet Scott Walker when he lived in Milwaukee, Wis and attended Marquette University High School. We took the same city bus after he transferred from the State Street Bus to the Route 30 bus. I attended Milwaukee Trade and Technical High School when it was near the Allen Bradley. But he has no way of dealing Common Core in Iowa THE GOVERNOR OF WISCONSIN AND IF HE WAS GROWING UP IN 1OWA THAN COMMON CORE WAS NOT AROUND IN THE 70S AND 80S. SO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

Trump is wearing thin on his antics.

I agree. No reason to attack Walker, Trumps ahead in the polls so maybe he should stop the side shows and talk about issues.

#1 with me is, stop the open border now, not in 2016. Stop the Iran deal now before we're all crispy critters. Use his bully pulpit to goad these government twirps into action NOW!

He's gonna lose me if he keeps this petty crap up.

This time around, we have several good candidates, including Walker, Cruz and Carly Fiorina. Why so many people here prefer an advocate of socialized medicine, 3rd trimester abortions, amnesty for illegals (all the way up to yesterday), etc., who has made massive campaign contributions to Hilary - is beyond me.

You guys are not thinking.

Trump does a little bit of emotional mirroring, as any conman does, and you fall for it.

What you call 'petty crap' is someone else's hot dog and coke. Who doesn't like a hot dog and coke? So Trump will lose you.... Why do I think you never even considered him?

"Bully Pulpit" is right on the money. Right now Congress is watching
and raising the right kind of hell with them can make good changes.

We'll see, but the petty uncalled for attacks are wearing thin.

Did you listen to the Trump Iowa speech?

I was not quoting facts, I was quoting a speech.

Go back to trade school dude, and learn how to read.;-)

Wrong, he's been my guy but I don't want every Republican ripped to shreds for the hell of it. Go after Obama, stop Iran deal, be Presidential and take on the issues. I've loved Trump calling out the losers but I think the time's come to move on from personal bickering.

IMHO
