CINCINNATI - A Cincinnati mother is accused of forcing her daughter to stay outside in the heat and demanding police take the child away from her.
According to court documents, Forest Park police Sgt. David DeSalvo responded to a home in the 11000 block of Donora Lane Sunday. DeSalvo said 35-year-old Catrina Fant refused to let her 11-year-old daughter into the home even though it was 90 degrees outside.
The girl was wearing fleece pajamas and snow boots at the time and was complaining that she was hot and tired, the report states. The child has low functioning cognitive ability and a history of mental illness, DeSalvo said.
The sergeant said the girls three other siblings were able to get her a glass of water while she sat on the porch and cried.
When DeSalvo confronted Fant, he said she replied, F*** her, I dont care about her. She aint coming in my house. You need to take her.
The sergeant contacted Hamilton County Job and Family Services and officials there said there was an open investigation into claims of medical neglect toward the girl.
Social workers told DeSalvo that Fant had requested five times that the agency remove the 11-year-old from the home.
However, the agents said Fant refused any and all services and programs, according to DeSalvos statement.
DeSalvo said he repeatedly told Fant that she was responsible for caring for the girl. He said Fant replied that "she didnt five a f*** and "police cant make me take her.
Social workers later responded to the home and took the girl and Fants three other children. The siblings have been place in foster care.
Fant was charged with endangering children and was arraigned Monday morning. She is being held on a $5,000 bond and is ordered to not have any contact with her children.
I grew up in Texas and my mother said don’t come in until the street lights come on. And drink out of the hose if you need water.
Did you even read the article?
“She ain’t coming in my house. You need to take her.”
The Bible speaks of people devoid of natural affection.
I guess I abused myself in my youth, through today. Outdoors is where I live, and make my living...my skin shows it. Indoors is for bathing and sleeping....sometimes.
Words fail me.
Looks like she’s foaming at the mouth.
Like this child, do you also have “low functioning cognitive ability and a history of mental illness”?
Because this child does, and she probably can’t take care of herself outside.
Sending her outside sounds cruel and unGodly.
Alright, alright. I just skimmed the article. This is child abuse.
Of course, this woman just got what she wanted - freedom from the responsibility of caring for the children she spawned.
We live on a sail boat in South Georgia USA. No AC on board. 90 isn’t that hot.
I seem to remember my Mom saying the same thing to me about the lights and the hose.
Somebody impregnated THAT at least four times.
Words fail me too.
She’s going to howl like a scalded cat when she figures out that she loses her ADC money too.
In the word of Randy Bachmann. “Any love is good love, so I took what I could get, yes I took what I could get”
My God the violation of humanity of it.
Families on Conestoga wagons never moved from camp unless the A/C had it down to a pleasant 72 degrees!
...”this woman just got what she wanted - freedom from the responsibility of caring for the children she spawned”....
Yes.
Cheap gin, stupidity and horny are a bad combination.

And are you "wearing fleece pajamas and snow boots at the time"? Does your family have "low functioning cognitive ability and a history of mental illness"?
Sheeesh!!!
Obviously he didn’t
(nothing new at FR!)
Put her in community service cleaning park bathrooms to pay for the kids others will be taking care of.
