A police officer who killed a man in Cincinnati during a traffic stop has been indicted for murder, the Hamilton County prosecutor said today, noting, "This was the purposeful killing of another person."
"I'm treating him like a murderer," prosecutor Joseph Deters said during a news conference when describing the warrant out for a police officer who killed Samuel DuBose, 43, earlier this month.
Tensing had been on paid administrative leave but was let go by the department, school officials said in a release Wednesday.
Footage released today from a police officer's body cam lasts about 10 minutes and shows the shooting.

So no riots since he’s indicted right?
The discrepancy between the video and the officer's statements might be part of the reason that the prosecutor has made the decision to charge him with murder, I guess.
Hopefully, this new trend towards using these personal cams will help reduce the number of "accidents" and abuses.
The officer was repeating "he tried to run over me" over and over, which is not supported by the video. He said nothing about "the guy was reaching for something", so, in the excitement of the moment, it looks like the officer chose the wrong excuse, at the very least.
Apparently not.
Also no word on second cop that fabricated a cover up story.
You pretty much summed it up.
The officer was repeating “he tried to run over me” over and over, which is not supported by the video.

Well, the engine was running and the car was in gear, because the car took off after he was shot. We’ll see what a defense attorney can do with that. The camera was shaking so badly, I had to watch it a few times to tell when the shot was fired. There was something physical going on to cause that. We’ll see what a defense attorney can do with that, too.
Guy that was shot had a lengthly rap sheet and 10 kids!!!!!! A pillar of the community not saying he should have been shot abut my gosh 10 kids and a rap sheet a mile long!!!!! It is never ending what a role model for his 10 kids!!!!!!
Maybe that's because the guy never reached for anything. I've watched the vieo about 15 times now and I still see very little movement from the driver. I see the cup reaching in; I see the cop pull his gun, but I see no movement from the driver until the cop pulls the gun.
LEO can’t claim the clunk was trying to run him down when video clearly shows LEO was standing alongside driver’s door!
Of course, the clunk has a history of 70 (!) arrests, but that doesn’t matter in this case,
Betcha 10 different mommies.
Well OF COURSE 12 different mommies and 12 NEW welfare recipients!!!!! SCUM!!!!! well at least there won’t be 13!!!!!!
Seems that things really went wrong for the cops when they tried to lie their way out. Changed a panic shoot to murder.
Time for a media investigation to the Amish practice of child bearing and GIVING THE DAD’S a lifelong pass on child support.
There is no way these Amish fathers are being burdened like the white fathers are.
Of course there could be one in the oven somewhere!!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!! what the hell has LBJ created!!!!!!!
I think also it was a PANIC situation with a COVERUP!!!! just saying this slime ball had 10 kids and absolutely NO CONCERN for the kind of life he was leading for their behalf!!!!!! 10 KIDS!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!
Kind of hard to get child support from NON WORKING lowlifes!!!!!!
Yep, I'll bet he used 'em to get lighter sentences, too.
Kids names: EBT1, EBT2, EBT3,.....
Several important unanswered questions:
Why was the guy kept the license question?
Why did he try to escape?
Now there’s an expose waiting to be written.
I guess not, but what will happen if the guy is found not guilty? Who knows if he will or not, but what happens if he is found not guilty?
