Weren’t there two Moslems in the cockpit?
To: SeekAndFind
It was a tragic accident, not a conspiracy or crime Really?
No radio?
No using GPS?
No using the freaking compass?
Even WWI pilots 100 years ago would have found someplace to land NOT in the middle of the Indian Ocean

We won’t know the full story until the black boxes are recovered, but my guess is the pilot intentionally killed all of them.....................

First question.
Were pilots ROP?
If so, no further questions.

Of course.
Malaysia is a majority Muslin country.
To: SeekAndFind
Crazy talk. A rational, logical explanation for the disappearance of the airplane? That’s no fun.

“Malaysia MH370: Still a tragic accident and nothing more”
Just another useless journalist stating their opinion as fact.

One would think that an experienced pilot of 34 years would have at least considered an Islamist terrorist possibility in the article.
To: CodeToad
Don’t bother reading much beyond the headline, eh? The author is an international pilot with 34 years experience, and he clearly states that he is speculating in the excerpt posted.

The headline says otherwise. Poor choice of headline, as usual.

Nothing short of a complete electrical failure would explain it.
Is that even possible?

All speculation aside...
it does make me ponder a bit to know that I can board a freaking HUGE airplane, with modern tracking both on board and on ground...
and just disappear. vanish from existance.

It’s not “impossible”, but should be no more likely than literally “Once in a billion hours of flight”.

Nothing short of a complete electrical failure would explain it.Someone still needs to operate the electronics , communications and avionics packages. Crew incapacitation is certainly a possibility.

An “accident” where all tracking systems were shut off, all radio communications stopped, and the route changed multiple times that just happened to avoid radar. Sure, just an “accident”, right!
