Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, criticized Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday for his harsh rhetoric against the Iran nuclear deal. Cruz, a 2016 presidential candidate, has repeatedly warned in recent days that the agreement would mean President Barack Obama's administration is essentially sponsoring terrorism.
"If this deal goes through, the Obama administration will become the leading financier of terrorism against America in the world," Cruz said in a July 15 Fox News interview, for example.
He added: "I've heard this referred to before as the 'Jihadist Stimulus Bill.'"
But Romney argued on Twitter that Cruz's comments undermine the opposition to the deal:
"I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge. Hurts the cause."

Romney was a vicious warrior against Gingrich, ripping Gingrich’s throat out in the pre-Florida debate.
Romney was a little puppy dog against Obama, rolling over on his belly and piddling himself, and whining and mewling and puking up little dribbles of doggy milk. It was the most pathetic campaign in the history of the American Presidency, with the possible exception of McLame, who spent more time and energy hobbling Palin than criticizing Obama.
Of course Cruz is 100% correct on the substance of his remarks, just as Huckabee is 100% correct using the “ovens” analogy.
