Trump Goes Mushy, Incoherent on Immigration (gee, who coulda seen this?)
Breitbart ^ | 7-30-15 | Ben Shapiro

Has Donald Trump made his first serious boo-boo of the campaign?

For weeks, the media have trumpeted the supposed death of the Trump campaign. First, they claimed, Trump’s campaign imploded on launch thanks to his comments about illegal immigration. Then they claimed that Trump was finished because of his slap at Senator Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% ’s (R-AZ) war service. But neither of those comments alienated Trump’s base – he’s maintained his seven point lead over Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in the 2016 presidential polls, with no other candidate breaking double-digits in the polls. In fact, his original comments about illegal immigration launched his candidacy to prominence, with many Americans relieved that a major candidate had finally touched the media third rail and talked openly about illegal immigrant criminality.

Now, however, Trump may have damaged himself with the very people excited by his candidacy. Asked point blank about his immigration policy, Trump dropped the brashness and the blurting, and suddenly went completely Hillary-vague on CNN. After blathering about deporting criminal illegal immigrants – even President Obama pays lip service to this idea – Trump continued:

Still waiting for the Republican munchkins to give us a real border fence and present new legislation to enforce border security. So where is it?

At the risk of being simplistic, has anyone ever proposed to pay illegals to leave. We’re paying to have them stay, give each illegal 10K to go back home.

You don’t like Trump, I get it.

Tell me who to vote for.

I thought these would be new comments, but looks like they’re just beating to death something we’ve already had long threads about. Trump is sitting there talking about 100 percent deportation of everybody, but they’re calling him “mushy” because he might expedite the process for the few who are “outstanding” and want to work. We’re talking about people already out of the country going through a legal process. And this is all done after we build the border wall and secure it.

Mushy? Screw you

Failed in 80s, failed in the 90s, failed in the last 15 years. We're still waiting.

It must be nice, celebrating the demise of Trump, on an almost daily basis.

The only problem, however, is that Trump is obliterating the field. Kind of makes the celebrations less warranted, and I would assume, a little less celebratory.

Cruz, Walker, maybe Carson? None of ‘em are perfect, but Cruz at least “gets” illegal invasion implications.

NumbersUSA knows and anyone who is informed about immigration understands what Trump is saying. He is proposing the old Mike Pence touchback scam.

Compared to who? Jeb? As I see it the only people that could
have a problem with “the Donald” are liberals and Jeb
supporters. He’s not much of a threat to anyone else.

Isn’t that what the political class does? He’s practicing

Getting in relative early:

Dear Trump supporters:

Saying “well, the other guys are bad too” isn’t much of a defense. Nor is saying “at least he’ll be better than Obama or Hillary” Best case scenario, either is damning with faint praise.

And if being mushy on this is excusable in one candidate (Trump), don’t act like other candidates being mushy is somehow a cardinal sin. It just makes you look hypocritical and blinded by reality TV.

I saw the interview, I didn’t think what he said was bad. The truth is, immigration is a very difficult issue to solve. The best answer is that he will collaborate with his team to work out the best possible solution.

Cruz wants to legalize the lawbreakers and increase guest worker programs fourfold. When you reward something, you get more of it.

He is as shallow as any other celebutard and his views apparently change with the wind and the latest headlines.

Ok, just tell me who has PROMISED TO DEPORT, and please provide a link.

Otherwise, sorry - I’ll take a wall for now, and discuss options for those here in 2018.

The best answer is attrition thru enforcement.
