Trump Goes Mushy, Incoherent on Immigration (gee, who coulda seen this?)
Breitbart ^ | 7-30-15 | Ben Shapiro

Has Donald Trump made his first serious boo-boo of the campaign?

For weeks, the media have trumpeted the supposed death of the Trump campaign. First, they claimed, Trump’s campaign imploded on launch thanks to his comments about illegal immigration. Then they claimed that Trump was finished because of his slap at Senator Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% ’s (R-AZ) war service. But neither of those comments alienated Trump’s base – he’s maintained his seven point lead over Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in the 2016 presidential polls, with no other candidate breaking double-digits in the polls. In fact, his original comments about illegal immigration launched his candidacy to prominence, with many Americans relieved that a major candidate had finally touched the media third rail and talked openly about illegal immigrant criminality.

Now, however, Trump may have damaged himself with the very people excited by his candidacy. Asked point blank about his immigration policy, Trump dropped the brashness and the blurting, and suddenly went completely Hillary-vague on CNN. After blathering about deporting criminal illegal immigrants – even President Obama pays lip service to this idea – Trump continued:

"There never was an answer."

I suggest you get your vision checked, then. I answered you last night. Look it up.

" If you support Cruz yet you claim Trump is a Democrat which is it? Is Cruz a stupid dupe or are you denying they are allies?"

Look up last night's response.

Don’t get hung up on the fact that you’re paying them to leave.

The problem is getting them to leave. What’s the cheapest way to do that? If it’s paying them then pay them.

They won’t all take advantage of the offer. That will just get rid of the low hanging fruit. But potentially faster and cheaper than other methods.

Legal immigration is a separate issue. We are a nation of laws. Or at least were and would like to be again.

I did. It doesn’t make any sense. So you think Cruz thinks Trump us a Democrat like you do?

So it’s a junk poll, then. We need polls of Likely Voters. They’re the only proven public as far as elections are concerned. Have you seen the negatives on Trump?

Let me be clear. I'm sticking with Ted Cruz. Donald Trump will never get my vote, because I'm done voting for liberals.

Neither your nose, nor your face, appreciates cutting off one to spite the other. But your answer, that you would rather feel better about yourself, than vote for someone who could clear the DC swamp, is incredibly selfish. I have nothing but admiration for Cruz, and he would be my first pick (my first 100 picks, actually), if things were different. I prefer him to Reagan, which says a lot. And, yet, I recognize that sometimes you have to look for what you need, and not what you want. I may want Cruz, but the country needs someone like Trump (correction, there are so few people like Trump, it should read "the country needs Trump"). I would love to sit back in a comfy chair, sip cognac, and smirk at "Trump voters", while chuckling at how I could never be one. But I am neither selfish, or self-absorbed, enough, to do so.

I am supporting Trump, because we need him. If you want to carry on with some kind of fantasy, go ahead. The world won't wait up on you.

Two of the most dangerous trends in conservatism as it has gone more mainstream are the search for “the hero” and the willingness to stop thinking when “the hero” arrives.

The solution to America’s problems aren’t going to be resolved in some heroic figure. Things don’t work that way except for Jesus Christ. The solution to America’s problems is going to come from Americans. DC isn’t going to solve the problem.

Trump’s not the hero people make him out to be. He’s been vague and mushy all along, only doing it in a brash way. Delve deeper and he’s hard-shell on melting ice cream all the way.

Okay so nobody supports mass deportations.

Certainly that's disapointing.

Now, how about support for citizenship amnesty to the millions of non drug dealing, non rapist illegal aliens ??

Sounds pretty bad, right?

Jeb, Trump and others support that.

Once again, irrelevant. The question is not about heroism, or about conservatism. It is about whether or not a candidate has the capacity to tame the DC cartel. I believe Trump has that capacity. Obviously, you don't. But in a very long time of watching politics, I have never seen someone who I could utter the words "he can change everything", in terms of the DC swamp. And that includes Reagan. I am not saying he will, or that he wants to. But the fact that he can, separates him from everyone else, stretching back a long way.

How about paying the American Taxpayer 10K for everyone he/she drug to the border by their hair/ear/arms/legs kicking and screaming.

Or not kicking and screaming. That is the illegals right to choose how they want to go.

Propose that simple idea. You would have half of Texas not show up for work the next day.

"there are so few people like Trump"

Yeah, not much worship going on. Not at all.

Here's the thing. I voted for a liberal in 2012 after a lot of praying about it. Without divulging the details, I'll just say I had some spiritual issues, and God took me to task.

So I've cast my last vote for a liberal. You can delude yourself that this country needs a Democratic shyster all you like, but you'll have to own your share of the blame when he sends it to ruin.

I have a higher authority I'm going to pay attention to this time. You know...the God of heaven. Not the false one with the combover.

And I don't give a single rip what people like you think about it.

“So starring on, and producing, a reality show about themselves makes someone stupid and exploited?”

So they are not as shallow and whimsical as you lead
me on to believing they would be? Exactly what are you
trying to say? The Kardashians are shallow, whimsical,
smart and calculating all at the same time. Now that’s
a stretch. Good lord, there’s no telling where you are
going to go with “the Apprentice” but what the heck
go for it.

Yeah, not much worship going on. Not at all.

LMAO. Are you really saying that there are a number of candidates like Trump, or that candidates like him are commonplace? Love him, hate him, or be completely indifferent to him. You have to admit that my statement "there are so few people like Trump" (clearly stated in the context of "there are so few candidates like Trump"), is accurate. And yet you say that is "worship"? Objectivity, is more like it. I can understand you voting, out of conscience, for only proven conservatives. Were I younger, and more selfish, I would probably do the same. But this is a seminal moment, and our decisions will have an effect. I will not throw my vote away, either for the enemy (the GOPe), or for the ones that scare them not at all (Cruz, Walker, etc.). I will vote for someone who I abhor, and don't trust, because it is the right thing to do for this country. Because he is the only one who has even a remote chance of actually changing things for the better.

.I've asked many "do you want to pick the vegetables or make the beds at Motel 6? All I get are crickets, or worse yet, other insults.

Pure uninformed BS. Anyone who buys the crap that we need immigrants to do jobs Americans won't do ignores the facts.

Are There Really Jobs Americans Won’t Do? A detailed look at immigrant and native employment across occupations

This analysis tests the often-made argument that immigrants do only jobs Americans don't want. If the argument is correct, there should be occupations comprised entirely or almost entirely of immigrants (legal and illegal). But Census Bureau data collected from 2009 to 2011, which allows for detailed analysis of all 472 separate occupations, shows that there were only a handful of majority-immigrant occupations. Thus, there really are no jobs that Americans won't do. Further, we estimated the share of occupations that are comprised of illegal immigrants, and found that there are no occupations in which the majority of workers are illegally in the country.

Of the 472 civilian occupations, only six are majority immigrant (legal and illegal). These six occupations account for 1 percent of the total U.S. workforce. Moreover, native-born Americans still comprise 46 percent of workers even in these occupations.

Many jobs often thought to be overwhelmingly immigrant (legal and illegal) are in fact majority native-born:

Maids and housekeepers: 51 percent native-born

Taxi drivers and chauffeurs: 58 percent native-born

Butchers and meat processors: 63 percent native-born

Grounds maintenance workers: 64 percent native-born

Construction laborers: 66 percent native-born

Porters, bellhops, and concierges: 72 percent native-born

Janitors: 73 percent native-born

There are 67 occupations in which 25 percent or more of workers are immigrants (legal and illegal). In these high-immigrant occupations, there are still 16.5 million natives — accounting for one out of eight natives in the labor force.

High-immigrant occupations (25 percent or more immigrant) are primarily, but not exclusively, lower-wage jobs that require relatively little formal education.

Illegal immigrants

We find that there are no occupations in the United States in which a majority of workers are illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants work mostly in construction, cleaning, maintenance, food service, garment manufacturing, and agricultural occupations. However, the overwhelming majority of workers even in these areas are native-born or legal immigrants.

Although illegal immigrants comprise a large share of workers in agriculture, farm workers are only a tiny share of the total labor force. Consistent with other research, just 5 percent of all illegal immigrants work in agriculture.

creating wealth?

Trump pays off politicians for favors, seizes property by eminent domain and puts up the big top to put on a show, sells 75% of the shares to suckers and pockets the cash and lets the business go bankrupt.
