A synced-up video of body camera footage from three University of Cincinnati police officers – Ray Tensing, Phillip Kidd and David Lindenschimdt – reveals the dramatic aftermath of the police shooting of a 43-year-old unarmed black man.

It shows that both officers were behind Tensing at the time he shot DuBose, but both backed claims the officer had been 'dragged'. These claims were used to justify the shooting, but were later dismissed as false by the county prosecutor who charged Tensing with murder. Kidd and Lindenschimdt have also been placed on leave

I hope you’re not suggesting that the victim drinking a bottle of urine makes him seem more sympathetic than drinking hooch.

Try drunk driving.

The penalty for drunk driving is summary execution? Wow! Your sobriety check-points must be very messy.

In looking at the video several times, I never saw a gun at all. I saw the action get completely fuzzy and out of focus. Of course, I understand there was a gun - I just never saw it. Perhaps there’s a video I’m missing.

The penalty of summary execution for drunk driving is generally foisted on the innocent soul crossing the street in front of the drunk. Here in NYC, it really happens. And, yes, it is messy.

The video linked in the story at the top of this topic shows the scene I am referring to. And you do get to see the gun very clearly. Briefly, but clearly.

Not at all. Some men pee in empty bottles and cans when they’re driving and then they toss the empty out the window. It’s disgusting.

It doesn’t mean the man wasn’t drunk, it also doesn’t mean he hadn’t finished that bottle of gin not long before he was stopped.

All I’m noting is that the brand of gin in question is clear and the fluid in the bottle is yellow. Whatever that fluid is it is not what is listed on the label.

So your belief is that DuBose had it coming to him. We will have to agree to disagree on that.

He had a car. Not unarmed.

I'm wearing a belt. I guess I'm not "unarmed" either.

No, but he was heading for trouble. He was lucky for many years. Unfortunately, his luck ran out.

“While I agree with you, this guy who was shot was drunk!”

I haven’t read anything about the autopsy report showing that he was drunk and the bottle of gin appeared unopened. I’ve searched for this information and have not found anything. Where did you get the information that he was drunk?

Before during or after he shot DuBose. Who cares

Did Tensing claim that he shot DuBose because he was being dragged, or not?

“Can they shoot me just because I drive away from a traffic stop?”

According to the Supreme Court, no.

IMO this is this only thing that may trip up Tensing. As far as I’m concerned, his allegedly falsifying the police report may be his only downfall.

If in fact those false report allegations are true.

The other poster said that he'd never seen gin that color. But he was he was unfamiliar with that brand.

It was a full bottle of gin. There has been no evidence presented yet that he was drunk. Unless you think Responsibilty2nd is an honest poster.

Yes, a belt can be a weapon. That’s why they take it away from you when you’re arrested.
