One of two men suspected of making off with a bag containing $150,000 in cash that was mistakenly left behind by ATM workers bought an SUV with the money hours later, police said.

Alton Harvey, 42, of Hillside, was arrested Wednesday after police traced a white van that was captured on surveillance video pulling up to the bag of cash that the ATM employees forgot outside a business in Mahwah, in northern New Jersey, on Monday. The video showed a passenger in the van grabbing the bag.

Does 24 refer to the size of the subwoofers or does it refer to the size of the wheels?

Wheel size. The ones that have 24" rims, and rubber bands for tires. Hit a pothole, bend your rim.

I seem to recall stories of honest people returning such lost money to the bank or armored car company and getting an impersonal letter of thanks and a $100. This always came across to me as wrong and a bad publicity move on the corporate front. While it probably wouldn’t apply to this guy, Mensa candidate that he is, if there was a known policy of 1% reward, everybody would be happy. Good publicity all around and encouragement of right actions!

My daughter slid off the road and cracked a rim. When the repair shop told her it would be an extra $100 to get a matching one, she said nope. All I need is a round one.

Smart kid.

Sorry. 24s would be wheel size. Probably go with long throw 15 inch subwoofers. But that's just me.😯

Criminals are such stupid opportunists.

I would love to be a criminal for a month or two just to show them how easy crime is for an intelligent person with a few physical and mental resources. Crime isn’t hard and not getting caught isn’t hard unless you are stupid, which most criminals are.

Thank goodness most of them leave an obvious trail to catch them.

And people wonder why we demand longer and longer prison sentences to keep these idiots from incurring all the expensive damage they do.

>>Yeah, but they are in the victim class that the perpetrator class preys on. They’re the bait, so to speak.

Perhaps, but Occam’s Razor leads me to look for check cashing stores and used tire stores before I start counting the vapor stores.

I got $50 bills from the Wells Fargo ATM In little crossroads Wells, NV in January this year. That machine whirred and clanked for minutes on end — I swear it was printing them fresh for each customer.

It would be hard to describe the amount of hoopla and constant press coverage that Joey Coyle story received back in the day. So much so that not having any connection or interest in him or his story, and having moved away from Filthadelphia decades ago, I still remembered the guy’s name to look it up on Wiki. Almost all the working class locals thought he should get to keep the money, and treated him like a rock star. Probably inundated him with sob stories and requests for donations, also. He just wasn’t equipped for the notoriety and stress. A sad story, in the end.

The bigger tip-off today is the number of vapor shops...

Good point. I live in KY where a LOT of people smoke as it is. I’m amazed at all the vapor shops. I don’t get the draw. It is not remotely appealing.

For me, used book stores are an upscale indicator. They read. :-D

Since so many places won’t take 50’s or 100’s I guess I glad I’ve only ever gotten $20.
