Trump supporters have got to deny that the Trump phenomenon is something other than a media phenomenon (however created) so they can deny the conclusion of the vanity. They do this by nitpicking whether Trump controls the media or the media created Trump.
They do not want to consider the distinction between a grassroots candidacy and the media phenomenon. They do not want to consider the implications of a media defined and driven candidacy.
“Trump is the wrong messenger with the right message.”
Calm down, general. This is just skirmishing and there’s a long way to go. I’m for Cruz and I suspect many here are as well, while willing to hold Trump’s coat right now.
How do you win skirmishes? Arrive first with the most men, right?
Whatever created this phenomenon, after seeing more than a few pusillanimous, poltroonish politicians choosing discretion over valor, we’re just rallying to someone we see will fight like another, who stood like a stone wall and drew others to him.
Fortunes change quickly, leaders come and go, but when the dust settles and the smoke clears, in the end, win or lose, we’re all still on the same side.
At least now, even with the wrong messenger we’re fighting back.
For the media to serve so that Trump is helped does not prove there are no grass roots.
Those roots are hungering for the fertilization by what Trump has to say and are responding.
Now Trump may be insincere or vacillating and that will prove out soon enough if so. I think you are just making false distinctions, however.
If one snubbed all received messages because men did not invent them at the lowest level, one would also have to snub the bible.
