Trump ALSO has to be liked, it is important.

I think Scott Walker is a great big nothing burger. No, he's a GOP-e burger with extra sauce.

The only reason Walker has any support is because he is from nearby Wisconsin, otherwise I suspect hed be down with Cruz.
Only one corner of Wisconsin even touches Iowa. The newspapers in Madison and Milwaukee never make it anywhere near Des Moines. Minnesota is a LOT closer, and it didn't help Bachmann OR Pawlenty.
Wisconsin isn't really a big corn or wheat growing state, unlike Kansas (which really DID help Dole in Iowa). Wisconsin is about industry (Harley Davidson, S.C. Johnson, Kohler engines, etc.) technology (Epic Systems) and Dairy. Iowa is about grain and pork. There might be more, but those of us who lived and worked in Wisconsin don't really hear about it.
What we did see was a man who was an up and down conservative in his actions MORE than in his rhetoric. I'm a Cruz supporter, but Walker is in many ways a sound, if not perfect, candidate.

Has this guy said anything that makes you believe he understands why America is falling down? Has he said anything at all that indicates to you he has any insight on how to turn our course around?
To me he seems like a really dry, exceptionally bland typical milquetoast Republican.
He’s not inspiring. he’s not the guy that makes me say oh yeah this is THE GUY.
He doesn’t make me do anything but look past him, because he’s not the guy.

I certainly agree with that.
He does not strike me as the guy to turn America around.

Hey it’s Saturday night on Free Republic. People are just having fun.
I guess you are a Scott Walker Fan?
What may sale in Wisconsin.... Does not work in Texas, Florida, Alabama, etc...
A politically correct Establishment Amnesty type Candidate that’s for Rigid Trade deals that empower foreign countries over the American people may play well in Wilkinson but it will not play well in states like Texas.
Just saying...

I admit I was wrong about Iowa. Before Trump arrived in the 2016 race, I expected Walker to win Iowa by double digits over his nearest rival. But Trump has changed everything. Walker may still eke out a win in Iowa, but not even close to double digit win.

Unless the 70% unite behind just ONE candidate, your question is hypothetical and has no practical meaning.

Different times, different candidates.
8/31/12 leader Perry 29% was toast after debate memory lapses.
10/19/12 leader Cain - 37% was toast after Bimbo eruptions.
Trump has nothing in news of extra-marital shenanigans. As famous as Trump has been for 30 years, believe me Enquirer would have sold lots of copies if they had discovered Trump scandals.
At this time only way Trump falls by the way side is if he commits a serious gaffe during debates.

The world's moving toward war...we'll need a war time President. That's why I like Walker. Trump's tough too ... both would be fine. Even that crazy socialist Bernie Sanders has backbone. Cruz and Rubio qualify. Carson belongs on the team - he has much to offer...
The rest of 'em - not so much... If Hillary won we should surrender and get it over with...

Trump is also the top pick among conservatives, with 28.4 percent of very conservative voters and 35.8 percent of slightly conservative voters supporting the businessman. In addition, Trump leads in every major demographic, like religion or age group, and among men and women.

I’ll be voting for Cruz as well, however, whether or not Trump is duping people remains to be seen. Maybe he means what he says, maybe he doesn’t.
What he is doing is rallying conservatives in large numbers. The other candidates are not. Not even Cruz. It maybe that Cruz cannot win the nomination. That also remains to be seen, but at this time, I also do not see Cruz being able to rally people.
It doesn’t seem to me that people are concerned with meek republicans who are worried about people liking them over all else. I don’t think people care about whether or not the GOP shows it can govern, or whatever other nonsense they peddle to us.
This isn’t about “getting things done” in Washington. This is about reversing the fall of America, and I don’t even think that Walker knows that America is falling.

As a resident of Milwaukee County, my tax bills demonstrate otherwise.
Walker has performed not one, but two budget miracles in this state.
