Jack Hanna was interviewed this morning. The number of lions is distressingly low. He suggested that rather than hunts, if there are more than can be maintained in a country's reservations, they should be put in preserves elsewhere.
He also suggested that the doctor who killed Cecil had to know it was illegal, that he was involved in dragging the dead animal off the protected reservation.
Got to remember they are trying to “trash” this country before and up to the 2016 elections.
I wish the screaming idiots would think about the poor people in Zimbabwe instead of a dead lion.
Just because John D Liberal has to go to a zoo to see a lion, the people in Zimbabwe probably see them as I see white tail deer: a herd to be managed for the benefit of man and lion.
If a well off doctor pays $350,000 for a legal lion hunt, half of that is probably graft for the various layers of government.
The remaining $175,000 pays the company/guides offering the hunt.
Say $75,000 of that filters into the local economy.
How many Zimbabweans will that $75,000 support?
And of the number of game animals killed “illegally” because they were off the preservation, how many were wounded on legal hunting grounds and had to be tracked to end their suffering?
I don’t know about lions, but I know deer can and will run for miles after being wounded.
Is it better to track them and end their suffering, or let them go and die a long, slow and painful death?
And for the hunting averse.
The bible plainly states that man is given dominion over the earth and all things that walk, crawl or slither on it. All the birds of the air and all things that swim in the water.
Permitted hunting is simply good stewardship.
By culling the herd, or pride, we ensure that the herd prospers in the end by maintaining a stable number of animals. No more and no less than conditions allow for a healthy herd or pride.
Zimbabawe will cooperate with the zealous shamers until they realize all the quick money they are no longer making from the hunters.

The friggin’ idiots who scream about “illegally killing a lion” cannot bring themselves to utter the words “illegal aliens”.
We are in the foreshadowing stage before the SHTF. We have plenty of warning. Those who are not prepared...

I knew someone from Wyoming in ranch country where they would have annual “coyote roundups” and the protestors would try to interfere, so one year when they knew a lot of animal rights people came to town, they let someone drop a hint at a hotel bar that the actual hunting event was being moved to a different location early out of fear of the protestors finding out, and would meet at a rendevous before 5am. The location they gave the activists had only one access road, which was thirty miles of frozen mud at night and brown goop that would swallow a truck to the doors by day. The protestors went up the hard mud road in darkness at 5am, looked and listened in vain, figured they’d been skunked. Returned as the sun was rising, and one vehicle after another succumbed to the softening mud over that thirty mile stretch. They had to walk in the mud up to their knees. And none of their vehicles could be hauled out and towed until the following night, when the mud froze again, and the nearest small town, another 30mi after you got to the highway, did a heck of a business with their towing service.
That town had a one-taxicab cab service, and the protestors that could fit, showed up to the event, late, greeted by gales of laughter as they and their signs kept coming out of the cab like a clown car.
