Jeb Bush recalls 'dark-skinned' son's experience with discrimination
Tampa Bay Times ^ | 7/28/15 | PATRICIA MAZZEI

There are some things Jeb Bush seems more comfortable saying in Spanish.

n his second language, the one he polished to woo his Mexican-born wife, Bush has more than once opened up in interviews in ways he has not yet in English.

That may have to do with the questions Bush, an honorary Cuban American, gets asked in Spanish versus the ones he gets asked in English. But whether it's because of Bush or because of the interviewers, the former Florida governor has expressed himself in more personal terms en español.

In Puerto Rico earlier this year, Bush's answer to whether he'd attend a same-sex wedding -- "Claro que sí" -- was far warmer in Spanish than in English. Earlier Monday, he said in Spanish that he had been "hurt" by Donald Trump's comments about Mexicans.

And in the same interview with Telemundo's José Diaz-Balart, Bush opened up about a time one of his sons, now-Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, faced teasing because of the color of his skin.

Hey, JEB, GET OVER IT, already.

I was a “skinny guinea”, dago wop greaseball spaghetti-bender in school, among other things. I learned to get over it. In fact, it was good for me. Made me stronger.

Boosh has gone “all-in” with Mexicans. Easy to understand ... he has nothing else going for him with the voters ... and despite his (and the GOPE’s) firm belief that Mexicans in this country will vote for him ... they won’t (as electoral history has consistently shown).

OMG! I don't know about any of you, but having things said about one when one is growing up, I think, is par for the course. I don't know of anyone that I grew up with who wasn't teased, insulted or treated unfairly in some way.

But, maybe I grew up in an era that meant that one had to get tough because once one showed any form of weakness, the teasing, insults, and yes, bullying just got worse.

Oh no, his son faced teasing? Like, Jeb dude, you’re not living in a real world if you don’t know that all kids face teasing at some point.

“Bush’s answer to whether he’d attend a same-sex wedding — “Claro que sí”

Translation: YES.

Bush is the most patronizing, sickening RINO to ever run for president. The fake, fraud, told an interviewer the other day that he ONLY SPEAKS SPANISH AT HOME!

So with that in mind I want to be the first to ask this fake SOB to please move to Mexican and run for office. No way in hell you will ever be elected president of the United States. I thought you older brother was bad, but you are a 1000 times worse.

A multimillionaire’s son has one moment where he ‘feels’ bad because of a slight (very slight) disadvantage. I'll bet there's hundreds of thousands of kids who wish that had it that ‘rough’...

Bush and Holder should get together for a big cry in... a non-stop pity party...

I sure don’t understand what any of this has to do with the campaign.

His wife is Mexican. I hope he loves his wife, has had a happy life with her, etc. etc. But what in the heck does that have to do with anything??? Let’s talk about his record in office and positions on issues. Not that he speaks Spanish at home or felt his mixed ethnicity son was discriminated against somehow.

Jeb
English lesson on definitions for you. Teasing is NOT discrimination.

I bet his son is ashamed for his dad to pander with such stupid stuff.
