Citizen seems to notice a police officer driving around and around his neighborhood while he is working on his boat in his driveway.

Police officer doesn't like being filmed by someone in his own yard and decides to stop and pull gun on him.

>However, the cop did nothing wrong. HE did not pull his gun “on” the guy

If you were in your driveway waxing your car or pulling weeds or doing whatever it was with your property...and saw a cop driving around and around and then he gets out and pulls his gun...would you honestly think the same? That he did nothing wrong?

The situation was dire enough that he had to have his gun ready, but not dangerous enough to call for backup?

He’s either a “cowboy” or he meant to intimidate this guy

“have insisted that cops would not enforce obummer’s MARITAL law directives”

Yes, we are fully expecting that zero will coerce Churches to perform homosexual marriages using armed police as the enforcers.

;)

“What kind of Law Enforcement Officer is concerned with “Constitutionalist”?

My understanding is that "Constitutionalists" is a label by police for those claiming that they do not need a driver's license, do not need to file federal income taxes, etc. It is more or less code word to the likes of Black Panther, KKK, Weather Underground, etc.

I acknowledge that he should have de-escalated by taking his hand out his pocket. That said, the thugcop’s behavior was WAY beyond acceptable or legal in my opinion. WAY BEYOND.

California cops are awful to begin with, but this is above and beyond. “Are you a Constitutionalist, one of them crazy guys”.

Wow.

My point is that whatever you think about how the cop made his approach, once you refuse to take your hand out of your pocket after being told repeatedly to do si, you become the primary ahole in the situation and are creating a very, dangerous situation.

I was somewhat sympathetic to the guy making the recording until he refused to show his hand. After that, I lost all sympathy for him and he seemed like a nut trying to cause trouble rather than a citizen asserting his rights.

Imagine if the guy pulled his hand out of his pocket faster than the cop liked. All he had to do was say he moved fast and I felt my life was in danger.

I think they guy saved his life by not immediately complying.

What a truly frightening nightmare for this homeowner.
Hopefully he has that app that sends the footage to a secure server at the push of a button.
That officer knew darn well he was in no danger.

You may have a point, but once the guy refused to show his hands, he became a nutjob, looking for trouble in my eyes.

The cop showed great restraint not shooting the nutjob when he became agitated, yelled at the cop and refused to take his hand of his pocket

You are the problem in America. YOU.

Your presence on the forum defiles us.

I was thinking the same thing and was laughing about it.

Is this guy pulling my leg?☺

I think he's serious. If so, Above My Pay Grade needs to join this cop in an extensive psych appraisal.

Keep folks like this as far away from authority or control as humanly possible.

“He took it out and kept it at his side pointing downward.”

Which is not a standard protocol for use of lethal force.

Someone drawing a weapon is automatically assumed a lethal threat. Pull that crap on me in my driveway and he would not leave alive. Guaranteed. Cops are lousy shots, I’m not and either is the wife.

You make an excellent point about pulling his hand from his pocket.
The homeowner was in a tough spot either way with this maniac officer.

Do these guys still take an oath to defend the constitution?

They take an oath to their union and their ego.

One hundred percent of people who take issue with vehemently defending the constitution are jackasses.

I predict this video will get hundreds of thousands of hits.

It’s just outrageous. And anyone defending this cop has no clue whatsoever. Zip.

"I was thinking the same thing and was laughing about it. Is this guy pulling my leg?☺ I think he's serious. ..." ********************************************************************************************************* I've posted similar sarcastic posts before...but have learned it is best to tag them as sarcasm just to make sure no misunderstandings arise. If situations such as this were not potentially so serious, it would be funny to see a "Barney Fife" like this cop in action.

Yeah, this cop was wrong, but compared to a lot of the things going on now, it's really pretty mild. It's not hard to get killed by a stupid cop nowadays. It's probably best not to challenge them or provoke them because you really don't know what kind of person you're dealing with or what kind of training he's had.

A long time ago (a bit more than 50 years), two of us were truant from our school and two cops had to chase us down because we ran. We were taken down to the sub-station and when we were being moved from the back of the car to the back door of the sub-station, the passenger cop (the guy who had chased me down) held a shotgun on us while we walked. I guess the idea was to discourage us from running again. Interestingly, they never handcuffed us. If we had run again, I really doubt that he would have shot us, but we didn't know that then.
