Let’s look at it this way..
Would you want people on your school’s team who had no loyalty to your school?
Can't differentiate between academics and sports? Let me help: One is heavily involved in indoctrinating children with leftist ideology, while the other is not. People should be free to choose what they want to participate in, especially if they are paying for it.
So by that reckoning, if a school has an exceptional athletic program but a crap educational one, the children must be “locked into” the latter in order to participate in the former, otherwise they’re denied despite the fact that their parents are PAYING for it ?
Their loyalty need only extend to the team that they’re playing on, not including to the mediocrity of the educational facilities. Period. Only if it were demonstrable they were attempting to undermine the team (in which case, why would they waste their time ?) would your argument have the most remote validity.
This is not the 50's and "be true to your school" went out the window a long time ago.
Few students are in any school for more then a couple of years in any case.
