Megyn Kelly out-Foxed Donald Trump
Washington Post ^ | 8/7/15 | James Hohmann and Elise Viebeck

Posted on 08/07/2015 4:13:45 AM PDT by jimbo123

The Fox News moderators went after Trump harder than any of his opponents during last night’s debate. He started the debate on the defensive over his refusal to rule out an independent bid. Megyn Kelly, one of three moderators, then memorably pushed him on his history of misogynistic comments: “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.’” Later, she wondered when he decided to become a Republican and asked about his flip-flops on abortion. The other moderators, Chris Wallace and Breit Baier, forced Trump to defend his past support for a single-payer health-care system, his contributions to Hillary Clinton and the bankruptcies of his companies. They also pressed him for evidence that the Mexican government is sending criminals over the border.

There is mixed evidence about how much of a toll these moments, which would be fatal for any normal candidate, will take on Trump’s image. But it seems very possible that last night was a tipping point in the Republican nominating contest. Frank Luntz’s post-debate focus group, which aired live on Fox, found many voters who supported Trump going into the two-hour event turning on him. Buzz on the cable network and across most conservative web sites broke decidedly negative, including from commentators who have been sympathetic.

It is simply not the media’s job to plot against one of the leaders and become king maker. All the while they historically ignored the Marxist, anti American past of Barack Hussein Obams. Yes, Fox News never fully vetted BHO.

“Kelley is a journalist? She seemed like some kind of MTV air head who should be doing a mean girl fashion police show. Very unprofessional and disappointing.”

You have a way with words.

she is now Megan the Queen of Snark

Being a jack donkey hasn't hurt Megyn's trans-persona Bill O'Reilly's income any, and I doubt it will hurt Megyn's income either. Might enhance her current negotiations with CNN. It's nice to see those who pay attention wake up though.

So, heard from hubby that he now HATES Megyn Kelly.

HATES her.

He said she is no journalist, has no integrity and he is done watching her show. And he said that Chris Wallace, well, I can’t put down what he said about him but, it is much nicer than what Donald Trump said about Rosie.

We need a businessman at the helm, not a community organizer who has never worked a day in his life at anything other than rabble rousing.

A good American would understand this, Megyn.

All the hoopla over Trump being attacked is so much BS, balderdash, drivel

Trump should be pleased with the modus operandi...... it was good for him. He is better off for it. he was there before god and the world being asked questions about his underside. He responded with answers that clearly showed there was no underside, merely a different side.

Fox did Trump a huge favor in getting all this crap out of the way, off the table.

Fox BTW did the same with all the candidates, not only Trump. They all got the same treatment

It may not SUPPOSED TO BE the media’s job, but they are the self-appointed, self-annointed, self-proclaimed “guardians of truth”, which they never fail to remind us of at every opportunity...

Megyn Kelly, it is not up to you to bring down a candidate, this would be up to us as voters. Your questions were an obvious attempt to bring down Donald Trump, not to elucidate what he stands for.

In this attempt to bring him down, you displayed precisely what we abhor about today’s journalists.

Fox had over the years earned a degree of trust, and squandered it all last night.

Bunk.

Fox completely was in the tank for Bush, and went after Trump with every question.

Terrible debate. Worst I have seen. Fox should be very, very disappointed.

Lol! Whoever paid her needs to demand a refund. Trump is still standing, stronger than before, and Megyn took some serious ricochet hits.

Trump was what was lame. If he can’t handle Fox news without going semi-ballistic, he has no prospect for a successful future as president

Absolutely correct, Trump acted like a normal politician, when he couldn't answer a question (most of them BTW) he got indignant and went back the his talking points, which mostly consisted of his braggadocio about how awesome his skills are. Does he think that the Democrats aren't going to bring up his treatment of women? It doesn't matter that Democrats actually treat women worse.

What do you think he is going to get from the Democrats? Have you not been alive over that last few presidential election cycles?

Stunt? Is Trump above questioning over his own statements? I’m not anti-Trump, I know that he has no loyalty or love for the Conservative values.

I am expecting him to go third party as soon as he starts sinking in the Republican field as someone else takes the top slot.

Not only that did you see the BS they put up about Ted Cruz being born in Canada? Yet another takeout planned by FNC who definitely can not be trusted.

No lie. They are becoming the new MSNBC. Classless move.

What Megyn did was to deliberately extend Stephanopoulos’ phony war on women to Trump. Have people realized Fox just adopted this democrat lie?

Then after the debate Megyn played the victim card by saying Trump abused her as the woman on the panel.

Then Fox allowed Debbie Wassermam Schultz to call all the republicans racist and misogynistic.

Fox is now the DNC.

“Oh, a FReeper”

A very polite one maybe. “Fat pigs, slobs, and disgusting animals” seems downright timid when describing either piaps or moochelle on FR.

And Megyn invited Debbie Wasserman Schwartz to appear on her post-debate show to rage about a GOP War on Women!
