Donald Trump Turns Conservatives Into Liberal PC Word Police
Mediaite ^ | 08/08/2015

Just when you thought Donald Trump‘s presidential run couldn’t get any more absurd, the real estate mogul embroils himself in a feud with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, and consequently turned the most influential voice of the online right into a humorless college student looking for a safe space. Redstate chief Erick Erickson has banned Donald Trump from the Redstate gathering over his offensive comments, an irony so rich, you could frost a gay wedding cake with it.

In response to Trump’s off-the-cuff comment about Kelly’s metaphorical bleeding orifices, Erickson took to the stage Saturday morning, and explained his decision to ban Trump:

Neither of us said that.

You said he was talking about it. You listened to the sound clip where he clearly say, “...eye(s)...” and responded with certainty that he was talking about her monthly visitor.

Just like a Lefist not to take ownership...

Yes it has. Show some of them have been brainwashed in the left's way of thinking. Also, some of those we thought of as conservatives actually are just pretending to be conservatives.

It is crazy for conservatives to resort to banning people on basis of accusations of "what they might have meant."

Trump is behaving like a liberal. Decent people expect better.

Harrumph! Hmmph! Humph! My, my!

There's a story of Rahab in the Bible, a prostitute who nevertheless helped the Israelites and later became the mother of Boaz, and hence, an ancestor of Jesus of Nazareth. Along the way, she repented of her harlotry. Then again, that story is for people who believe that growth, repentence and redemption are possible things.

I want to say that the RINO liberals are finishing off what is left of the republicrat party with phoney PC crap and absolute lie. . It is the worst I have ever seen. They did this — It is on their heads. They accused Trump of “rape”. They accused him of being anti veteran because “song bird” was not a hero. Now they accuse him of a meaning so perverted that is is hard to imagine getting there when you hear it. Really sick and twisted intentional distortion.
The vitriol and hatred spewing out on this website from the RINO socialist is beyond repair. There will be no reconciling. This is a war and there will be nothing left. All Trump did was promise to close the damned Mexican Border and here we are . Its all about illegal aliens. But not surprising when you look at the RINO boehner and mcConnell . Constant placating and capitulation. Funding obamacare ( 4 damned times!!) funding illegal amnesty. This is now a Democrats dream. And it is squarely on the RINOs. No doubt. “ “Bleeding from her eye” converted to “He was accusing her of being in her menstrual cycle” You can’t even make that up. This party is now dead. go Trump.

Wasn’t it back in the ‘70s when Patrick Buchanan warned us that political correctness would be the reason for America’s demise? People didn’t take him seriously when he wrote about it but he was right.

For the purposes of this thread I will leave the
particular Trump vs Kelly dispute to others.
What interests me about this thread is a
question about blurring the lines between
political correctness and old fashioned rude,
crude language and/or behavior. I don’t think
that PC and crude behavior are one in the same,
necessarily. If I offer a criticism or observation
of one or two aspects of something and I am accused
of performing a massive social crime then that is PC.

If I innocently use a word that a designated victim
group dislikes and I am consequenced for it then that
is PC. There are many other examples. But if I publicly
call out someone using vulgar names then that is just old
fashioned unacceptable rude behavior political or
otherwise. The modern phrase ‘political correctness’
didn’t need to be invented for what has been around
forever. I think people should keep that in mind.

Who cares? It’s not relevant. Trump gave us some gold(you know the kind you see through all the fake shiny objects). He is not who I would vote for; but I sure admire how he woke the American voter up. He has an incredible skill. It’s time to stop all this nonsense about who does who to who. We need to win this election with a solid election of a real conservative. We need to unite instead of constantly being drawn into these kinds of things which only serve to do us in. We have a serious enemy in this country and we need to stop them. Voter fraud and the debt are two of our most serious problems. The national debt is actually 60 trillion dollars; not 20 trillion dollars. The 20 trillion dollars is the GDP. At a growth rate of 2 to 3% is not going to get us out of debt. And no jihadist muslim or illegal immigrant is going to help us.

Erick Erickson has lost his mind. Either that or Fox News made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. I’ll take door number two I think. Just recently Erickson wrote an article for Redstate saying what a kind nice person Donald Trump was when he was off camera. Now I guess he’s a woman hating monster.

Right now I’m so angry that if Trump wants to go third party I don’t even care. This GOP is not the Republican party Mr. GG2 and I joined at age 21. They are a mutated monster that needs to be wrestled to the ground and a stake put in their heart. If it takes four more years of Dems so be it.

You have a point. Maybe we’re past the civil debate days, maybe we’re in the who can damage the other faster and more effectively stage.

I just know the Republicrats threat of 3rd party and losing the election has lost the argument. 2014 elections killed that argument.

All of the lame tools in the gopE primary that are now piling on will NEVER get my vote.

Yep. They're making it easy to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Egads—is Eric E. close to being the most influential voice of the online right? That’s scary!

Check the comments on the Daily Mail UK article. 90% of the commenters have never heard of Eric Erickson - including the conservatives.

The leftwing press is predictably trying to make Eric into something he isn't, only because he snubbed Trump.

he is not himself the answer to the problem. Let’s see who rises to the challenge. You can be sure it won’t be Bush.

There's only ONE conservative running who passes the Free Republic smell test, and that's Ted Cruz. But can a Republican junior Senator with less than a single term in office under his belt, go all the way to the White House on his very first attempt? Not even slightly likely.

The Clinton/Bush/Rove/Leftmedia/GOP-Dem cartel will bury every other candidate in the race to come, except for Donald Trump. As a billionaire outsider, he can't be controlled, can't be bought, can't be scared off, can't be bullied, can't be silenced, and can't be stopped, just as long as he maintains his personal quest to become president.

On January 20th, 2017, a new president is going to be sworn in. It will be Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, or Donald Trump. Those are your choices. There are NO others.

Choose now.

Ted Cruz is the best choice.

Yes, he sure is, but the barriers to the White House are far too formidable for him to overcome at this early stage in his career. He will not be President this time around. His time is yet to come.

In the meantime, we've got one last shot to get a true reformer with real grit in the office. If a GOP-e squish or a Dem is elected, you can kiss our chances of ever electing another Republican good bye. The demographics of the country will shift so rapidly, that real Americans will become the new permanent minority.

Besides Cruz, Trump is the only other reformer with grit who isn't owned by the DC/Globalist cartel. He's the only one who's beyond the reach of their control, and is therefore the greatest danger to them.

My friend, no matter how flawed the man is around the edges, he's the only one who can beat the establishment at this time.

As Lincoln once remarked about U.S. Grant, "I can't spare this man. He fights!"
