They not only didn’t take Trump out, they goosed his ratings and made asses out of themselves. More and more Americans are discovering that the media is the real enemy and the political class are merely their tools.

Fox News is just as bad a orum as MSNBC for non gopes. Fox News is a gope organ.Getting Bush nominated is their goal and they use whatever occasions and tools are available to further that Goal Karl Rove is the Fox News theoretician of Fox News and the Republican Party for an ideology of Follow the Democrat Lead Whatever It Takes.

I understand about media bias, but I'm going against the crowd on this. They may have been "attacks", but they were also opportunities for Trump to get his message out, which he did.

I'd say the same of Fiorina's interview with Matthews. Whatever his intentions were, she got the opportunity to get her message about Hillary out, and she did.

But the candidates did not make one move toward taking Donald Trump out.

Rand Paul did, right out of the gate.

What a misleading headline. Here’s what Rush said:

“What are your thoughts? Do you think the possibility exists that Fox News was ordered by establishment leaders to take Trump out of the spotlight? Sound off on Facebook and let us know.”

From the debate live thread...

FOX News Republican Presidential Primary Debate - Main Event [LIVE THREAD 8:50pm ET]

What’s remarkable is Fox spent the hours leading up the to debate speculating about who might attack Donald Trump.

Who would have thought it was FoxNews’ plan to hit Trump and protect the establishment.

Kicking myself - should have seen it coming.

Just wow.

I suspect that Hillary’s friends at Fox News are deliberately engineering a martyr so that Trump has a good excuse to play third-party spoiler.

It did not escape my notice that both FNC and the two people they gave the most speaking time to all have a history of supporting the Clintons.

FNC jumped the shark with this debate.

All this Trump talk about being so abused and how “the powerful” are trying to take him out, is very remindful of the Herman Cain campaign’s supporters.

To prove he’s not just paper-mache, he should take on each of his competitors the way he did the easy target of an uppity blonde.

Clyde Barnum anyone?

As long as Trump can get free publicity by playing to the uncouth horde, he is happy to do so. Watch him when he has to start pouring his money out like Niagara Falls, the whole narrative will be changed and Mr. Trump might suddenly find he needs to re-concentrate on his real business.

Days before the debate, the FoxNews mods said they had a plan for ‘taking care of Trump’ — if he didn’t follow the rules, such as time limits.

FoxNews made no secret that they were out to get Trump.

The very first question in both session had to do with Trump.

megyn wasn’t the only one who took Trump on. She was the loudest and had the most time, but Bret threw the first punch right out of the gate for the greatest impact.

It was a fair question, but it was aimed at Trump and that’s what I object to... the ‘why’ of it all. I don’t even mind their trying to take him out.. but it was a planned coup, aimed at ONE person, and it ruined their ‘fair and balanced’ name.

Brit Hume (and megyn) was the one who made fun of Newt when he ran against obams. I expect cnn and the rest to do all this, but did not think Fox would join the left.

And after all that, Trump has to learn how to insult without sounding like a juvenile. He has the will to take anyone on.. but he goes into the personal attacks. As a candidate, do it with more style! There are ways to silence the opponent and win the argument. Personal words like ‘fat’, ‘ugly’, are not needed. A person can’t help being ugly.. but he CAN help being ‘stupid’.

To the debate moderators:

It is the job of the candidates to vet each other. It is the job of the moderators to provide a neutral forum for them to do so.

If you want to engage the candidates during the debates, then get on the stage and run for President yourselves.

Otherwise, just facilitate the discussion between the candidates and stay out of the conversation. You haven't earned the right to participate in the discussion, especially.from the safety of behind the desk.

The thing about Trump that keeps nagging me is that if he doesn’t win the nomination, he will become a “useful idiot” for the other side. He’s made up his mind that he’s running. The libs could run with Charles Manson and still win.

Those bashing Trump and defending FOX would be singing an entirely different tune if Cruz had received the same treatment by Megyn Kelly and the other “Moderators” last Thursday during the debate.

As another poster observed; if you’re going to excuse Kelly’s outrageous behavior, then you’d better also excuse Candy Crowley when she moderated the GOP debates!

The hypocrisy with some here is glaring! Sad watching FReepers carry the MSM and GOPe’s water.

George Will stated on Fox News Sunday that Trump’s support is mainly from the non-political, fringe types. He concluded that the campaign will start to jell once this “vulgar and crude man” (Trump) has left the scene. Rush discussed Friday the attitude toward outsiders by the political establishment. The RNC should be asked with a show of hands if they will support Trump if he wins the nomination. George Will will literally flip his wig if that happens.
