Jeb Bush, who has fought the perception of conservatives that he is not one of them, journeyed into the lions den on Saturday. While he may not have converted every skeptic at the RedState Gathering, a conclave of anti-establishment Republicans, he persuaded more than a few to give him a second look.
After Mr. Bushs solid but largely unmemorable outing Thursday in the first Republican debate, where he was overshadowed by the pyrotechnics around him, he came across in Atlanta as having tamed his wonkiness, and as being confident in defending positions he knew were unpopular with many in the crowd.
Jeb Bush in New Hampshire in May.What Jeb Bush Would Need to Do to WinJUNE 15, 2015 I for one believe that, and Im going to stand on that, Mr. Bush said in detailing his immigration views, which are crosswise to those of many conservatives. He earned applause for that line, as he did throughout a 33-minute speech and question period in front of activists whose tastes run to more avowed conservatives like Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana.
Mr. Bushs advisers said beforehand that they had accepted the invitation without high expectations. But afterward, many in the audience seemed ready to give Mr. Bush the Most Improved Candidate award for better articulating his positions and displaying more verve.

Yes, because the NY Times knows exactly what is best for conservatives and for America.
nothing like a new york times presidential endorsement.
The media has picked the republican candidate for the last two cycles. Isn’t it time the base got to pick one?
Bush for President. Third time’s a crime.
kiss of death in my book
Only you can prevent another Bush...
Yeah? What say you, Trip?
Do you concur with many in the audience? Were you there? Or did you watch the proceedings from the comfort of your parents' basement in your onesie?
Lion's den? With Erick Erickson, the Bush troll?
I think the NYT is looking for Jeb Bush to replace Hillary Clinton as she melts away under these scandals.
Redstate G is NOT an “anti establishment” group. Heck, it’s a GOP-e party.
Anything associated with Erick Erickson is as conservative as CPAC run by Grover Norquist, CINO.
¡Yeb! can call himself anything he wants, we know he’s a Democrat in an R jersey.
I’m never voting for him to be President of North Mexico.
If you vote for him, that’s what you are voting for.
Soooo...4 people?
Eric was born in 1975! He’s a damned kid. He was 5 years old when Reagan was elected. But he wasn’t here to see it, or any of Reagans presidency, or ANYTHING. He lived in Dubai until 1990.
This wacko is so far out from anything I have known. Who is he to come in with his assaholic lectures? Dump him Rush.
.
Erick Erickson is “done” ... I hope that his “payola” was enough to retire on ...
I refuse to listen to Erickson should he ever again appear a guest host on Limbaugh ... although that might be quite a while at this point ...
Rush knows he will LOSE audience members (the 10-year kind) should Erickson be invited as a guest host ...
Roll, Donald, Roll !!!!
.
And look, all these articles pimping Bush and slamming Trump? Coming from the NY Times and the WaPo, all hardcase leftwing media, who want to dictate the right-wings' candidates to lose against their own predetermined crap monster candidates. It's to the point you don't need the byline to ID the source, just digest the article's title. I have to go shower...
bttt your comment

“Jeb Bush Gets Applause at Conservative Forum”
yeah, yeah. RINOs like to refer to themselves as conservatives.
If Jeb got applause, it was not a conservative forum.
