Back in the good old days, before cops were forced to be PC, they would run all the rummies, soaks, drunks, crazies, etc. out of town. Why do people who pay taxes and obey the laws have to live in a cesspool created by those who don’t?

San Francisco has only itself to blame. Making yourself a sanctuary city to not only the illegals but the homeless as well, and this is the end result. I have snotty, elitist liberal friends up in the Bay area who complain about this and they blame corporate America for it. Talk about clueless.

Leftists don’t mind these problems. They can just apply their favorite cliches (racism, heavy-handed policing, etc...) and then demand more government spending and control to grow their “business”

That city has the kind of stench that cannot be remedied.

It’s very European to have your city stink like a eurinal. Lefties love pretending to be European.

I asked Lee Wednesday why other cities seem so much cleaner than San Francisco. “I think they enjoy serious winters,” Lee answered — cold weather can drive street people to easier climates. Ess Eff doesn’t have really cold weather: “We’re a year-round attraction for various lifestyles.”

...

Mark Twain said the coldest winter he ever experienced was summer in San Francisco. My point is that SF is a Democrat created cesspool of filth. It has nothing to do with the weather.

Leave it to liberals to turn one of the most beautiful cities into a sewer.

Changes in California law and policy mean that offenses that once rated as felonies are now misdemeanors. Police can't lock up drug users as they once did. Prisons and jails are releasing inmates who, Lee added, haven't worked through their "bad habits."

The "hope and change" promised by Obama has become true, especially under the leadership of Democrats.

Our once great country is now, at best, second rate. Just look at the condition of our cities under Democrat control, the condition of our airports, the new third world diseases entering our country and infecting and killing our children, the rampant drug problems, the increased crime by illegal aliens, the persecution of Christians, and more.

Yet we are spending money at an active war time rate! With nothing to show for it, I might add.

How can we make our country great again?

Since they are so welcome there, other cities should provide one-way transportation to San Freakcisco for all their stinking bums and aberrants.

Re-direct the vagrants and the mentally ill to the campus at UC Berkeley. Let the progs take care of them. Let them walk the walk for a change.

I like Saunders, but as a resident of SF and daily passerby of some of the parts she mentions, I haven’t noticed much if any difference vs previous years. And I have lived here 30 years now.

Very few cities have public restrooms. Yes, most of the violators are homeless but some are just ordinary people. When you have to go you have to go. Most stores have restrooms for customers only. Where are the located? As far in the back of the store as possible.
A good example is nearby the Virginia Beach beachfront. The last time I was there I saw one public restroom on longer than a 50 block stretch. Shopkeepers make sure you buy before using the restrooms. I admit it, I peed behind a dumpster once. The city (the hotel/motel keepers association) wants the city only used by tourists who have hotel rooms.
