Bingo! We’ve got a winner.

Well said.

Trump couldn’t possibly be worse than the mediocrities we’ve had for president after Eisenhower (excluding Reagan, of course).

Those entities and more are working against Trump right now.

Please explain why.

If he’s a Leftist why?

Explain that. I’m sure folks would like to know.

Liberals and Democrats do not viscously attack each other in public. (Outside of a campaign)
Rosie O’Donnell has been attacking Trump for years. She would never in a million years attack him openly in public if he were on her same political side. That is 100 percent guaranteed!

If I linked this to you a few minutes ago, I apologize. I want you to have access.

If Trump is a Democrat, or a Leftist, whatever, why do all these people and entities oppose him so energetically?

You’d be better off directing that question to them.

I just think that a jackass is the democrats political animal.

If you love Trump, go for it. I just want better for my country then a big mouthed entertainer.

Trump is managing to make more attention-getting noise about issues of both popular and “conservative” concern than even “conservatives” are.

People like to point out how special Reagan was until they realize what plates of jelly he was opposing. He was good, he was okay, he was acceptable, but he also didn’t have to stand against energized Democrats. Good and okay and acceptable didn’t carry very far after him.

Instead of being glad to God that at least SOMEONE is willing to break the rules of stuffy propriety that were enshackling political discourse as it went to hell in a handbasket, people are unloading on Trump.

Trump does not need to be the presidential candidate. He does deserve being listened to.

God used a jackass to rebuke a mad demonic prophet; and Samson slew thousands with the jawbone of an ass.

You see, it all depends on whose (or Whose) hand is on it.

RE: You tell us what the conservative position is on these issues first.

Just in case people think I am trying to avoid answering the question...

Here is one issue I would like Trump to address.

For me, Here is the Conservative Stance on Moral Issues...

Congress must do everything it can to protect life from conception to natural death.

Religious liberty and family values must be preserved and protected from popular passions and mob rule.

The family is the core unit of a healthy and functioning society. It consists of a mother and father, each endowed by our Creator with unique and necessary characteristics to model to children, making them best capable of raising the next generation with the values and skills they will need to fully participate and contribute to our society. As well as preserve the cherished ideals required for American Exceptionalism to be passed on to future generations.

However, the family and family values are under attack on all fronts. The killing of pre-born children continues to take the lives of millions of persons every year, and the homosexual lobby refuses to respect the religious and moral convictions of those who hold to the correct view.

Lawmakers must recognize the importance of the family unit in preserving our way of life, and pursue policies that protect marriage and the family, which is in the best interest of the state.

State Lawmakers must explicitly define marriage as the union between one man and one woman, a definition that predates our nation by thousands of years. This is the oldest institution in human history for a reason. Because how a culture procreates and passes on its legacy to the next generation is critical to its survival and well-being.

Congress should immediately pass laws precluding the federal government from discriminating against individuals, businesses, and institutions that believe in marriage as it has been and will forever be known. Additionally, Senators should refuse to confirm justices that do not believe in the original intent and wording of the First Amendment found in our Constitution’s Bill of Rights

Regarding the right to life, it is the most basic human right. The Founding Fathers recognized this and declared all to be “created equal” and “endowed with certain unalienable rights.” Chief among the God-given rights each and every human being possesses is life.

In 1973 the Supreme Court declared war on the unborn child when it invented a constitutional right to abortion services. Millions of lives have been cut off even before they are born and the dignity of the unborn child is still under attack. The left continues to push for unrestricted abortion; even going as far as trying to force employers to pay for birth control for their employees.

The pro-life movement, however, continues to gain traction. Restrictions on abortion have been passed around the country. Some states have eliminated public funding for abortion and many have passed parental notification laws.

Respect for the life of the unborn is growing and public officials are feeling pressure to crack down on abortion.
Congress can capitalize on this momentum by permanently prohibiting federal funds from being used to pay for abortion services. Congress should also take the first step of passing legislation banning abortion after 20 weeks. A respect for the dignity and sanctity of each and every unborn life must drive Congress’ legislative agenda in dealing with abortion.

OK, I’ve articulated the Conservative Position on Moral Issues.

If you are a Trump supporter, are you certain that Trump believes CONSISTENTLY in what I have articulated, or are there areas in which he disagrees?

I agree. I guess it gripes me to see the enemies of Conservatism trashing him, lying about him, doing everything they can to destroy him, and Republicans and some FReepers holding their coats while they throw rocks.

Supporting Trump now is, well—it’s a lot like bringing home a girl like Megyn Fox from school for Thanksgiving.
Your Mom pulls you aside and says, “Your father is going to talk to you.”
She leaves.

Like Elizabeth from Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” being counseled by her father over the vicar’s proposal, Dad braces you and says,
“If you don’t tap that for all it’s worth, boy—you’re no son of mine ... “

Lighten up Trumpophobes. We know what we’re doing.

A very nice list you provided, however, be VERY CAUTIOUS when it comes to Trump because this man has not consistently adhered to what he now says.

For instance, Trump today says he is opposed to gay marriage and civil benefits and believes that gay marriage should be decided by the states. Trump, however, contradicted himself in 2015, saying he would support the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage.

If he’s a Leftist why?

His past positions have been pro-choice, anti-second amendment. He donated to the Clinton Foundation and supported Barack Obama in 2008. He may have switched positions according to him, but if I was naïve enough to have had the same positions I would have a lot of self doubt. Those positions are leftist. He is 69 years old. Having leftist positions in your 20's and 30's is one thing. I could possibly cut him some slack. But if you are still changing major positions in your 50's and 60's your moral foundation is weak.

Trump is a promising start of something that is going to have to engage the grass roots to be good.

It seems obvious to me that the Trump phenomenon is being carried along by something a lot bigger than Trump. Not the least a segment of America which in fact does disagree with most of Trump’s past liberal positions.

If Trump wants the sacred fire, Trump will have to not snuff it out. I think he’s smart enough to know where the energy he has tapped wants to go, and that fighting it will put it out.
