Among the most vocal critics of Trumps remarks, according to several people involved in the discussions, were two conservative media rising-stars, Townhalls Katie Pavlich and HotAirs Mary Katharine Ham, both Fox News contributors and employees of RedStates sister sites. Over texts and emails, they helped organize a push to disinvite Trump from the RedState Gathering, telling their colleagues they didnt want to be on a stage that also welcomed him. Erickson said he was already inclined to disinvite Trump once he saw the video, but he credited his female colleagues with influencing his decision.

Now that you mention it - there wasn’t one question about Cuba, and I don’t remember anything about the Iran deal. But, by golly, we had to hear about a twitter war Trump ahd with Rosie and who would or wouldn’t support the eventual nominee. Or how about a gotcha question to Scott Walker about killing a mother or a baby? What place does this crap have when our country is going to he** in a hand basket? Mark Levin was right - it was tabloid tv. I did like Mike Huckabee’s answer on Planned Parenthood, by the way.
Kelly had her marching orders. The questioning was bizarre.
The silver lining is the absolute distraction it had on the GOP-e’s mission to promote it’s protégé.
Excellent post.
Her first question. THE VERY FIRST QUESTION not taken from any of what you cite but was a Democrat “War on Women” meme.
Sorta reminds me of Candy Crowley with her Benghazi question (where she’d brought her backup rebuttal) and Georgie Stephanopoulis’ Abortion question out of the blue.
Why ask Fox viewers for their input if the first thing you’re gonna do is pull a Democrat talking point out of the hat?
Your list
Great list. You’re absolutely correct about their avoidance of substantive discussion.
I did not watch the debate.
Since the debate I have not heard one discussion about the list you made. I’ve been thinking that the FOX panel had NO intention of asking anything related to the difference between how the GOP candidates would govern compared to the evil we have in the WH now.
The smart candidates would organize their own debates since there will now, after FOX has poisoned the well, be no substantive “debate” on any channel. It will be all “gotcha” questions from now on.
Great list.
It would seem that they should have asked Trump at least question #49.
