Rasmussen poll: Race tightens as Trump loses ground

Trump is still in the lead, but now garners the support of only 17% of those asked. Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush tied for second with 10%. Scott Walker and Carly Fiorina round out the top 5 with 9% each.

That was a big, steamy, fly-laden negative horse muffin on the whole poll. I bet there wasn't one number in there that wasn't cooked.

One thing that anti-Walker liberals have failed to understand, is that funding for their jobs and even some pensions will inevitably be cut regardless of election outcomes.

Taxes can’t be increased much, because truly productive, sustainable revenue-generating business continues to slow. Most of the consumers who would be able to pay higher taxes receive their incomes from government. The debts continue to pile up, because ever higher portions of revenues come from recirculating debt (personal spending by government income recipients).

Electing Walker would be the way to an easier landing for those who depend on government for incomes (and for everyone else). Repealing regulations, fees and cutting government spending for some particular interests would be the only way to get more revenue-generating businesses started.

Electing any of the others (big spenders, all) would be the hard way of defaults, repudiation and economic collapse (see Greece, Argentina, all), and the markets will most likely signal the nearness of defaults sooner than most political folks would expect.

What is this anti-Trump RINO bullshit?

Carly, Jindal, even Cruz weren’t saying a peep about illegal immigration, the one issue that really matters at this point before Trump stood up and said what every American was begging to hear.

Trump has stood against a massive campaign to silence him and this is how “conservatives” thank him?

Stop supporting Trump.

Trump isn't hurting my candidate. Cruz is right where he should be right now.

7 points lead over the nearest rival in a 17 candidate field? That is spelled L-A-N-D-S-L-I-D-E..

"And of those two, there's only one conservative there and it certainly isn't Jeb Bush."

Fully agreed. Jeb would lead us to defaults, repudiations of debt and a nearly complete shutdown of civilian government services as quickly as any of the others would--that is, any of the others except Scott Walker. He's the only one with a real record of cutting much spending that I know of.

As for Scott looking weak to those following their hormones, they should consider this carefully. In history, objects of cults of personality, thought to be more mean or rugged in appearance turned out to be more than their advocate majorities could stand. This is a reference to some of the more notorious, infamous despots of the world.

Some of the best prize fighters and soldiers in history have had young, kind facial characteristics and good manners. That's the truth against myths perpetuated by dramatic entertainment.

You forgot that Walker attacked Trump first! What is the matter? You do not enjoy counter-punches?

Go ask Rick Perry and Linda Graham, how their campaigns are doing. It is never smart to attack anyone much bigger than you. Walker will learn that lesson the hard way.

We elected plenty of “conservatives” in 2010 & 2014. They talk a lot but did nothing to follow through with promises.

In 2016 I am looking for a America First candidate.
Who will tackle the most important issues, jobs lost to China, and middle class wages in a dump with the cheap labor express of 3rd world immigrants, legal & illegal.

Trump lost conservatives today when PP came out in support of Trump's comments on PP's funding.

Ridiculous.

Trump left a couple of crumbs on the table after promising to destroy PP's core service, and they blurted out a slobbering "Thank you, Sire!", and you think that killed Trump?

Ridiculous. PP is going to become something more akin to a real women's health service without federal support of their abortion mills, and most conservatives know it.

I will know when Cruz wants to go after Trump. Until then, I think we would all be more respectful of Trump. He is the frontrunner and he’s led an exemplary life as far as I know. When Cruz goes after Trump, then I’ll take another look at Trump. Right now, he’s doing fine.

I don’t think any conservative supports Trump at this stage.
