Trump/Carson 2016: It Could Happen
Washington Times ^ | 08/13/2015 | Jennifer Harper

Posted on 08/14/2015 7:08:19 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

“While the punditocracy bloviates endlessly about the rise of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, branding this the year of the outsider, the ultimate outsider is quietly sneaking up along the outside, Ben Carson. He’s already running second to The Donald in Iowa, and a not very distant second at that, in the latest poll of the early caucus state,” observes PJ Media founder Roger L. Simon. “His performance at the first big debate won plaudits, especially his witty final speech making fun of his background as the only neurosurgeon running for president. He came in second in Google searches during the debate.”

Mr. Simon is mulling the potential of a Trump/Carson presidential ticket, and is convinced that Mr. Trump could very well leave the physician off his attack list.

“There’s one thing I can predict. Ben Carson is one person Donald Trump will not come after, even if Carson continues to rise in the polls. You don’t attack soulful pediatric neurosurgeons raised by single mothers without risking substantial blowback. Now, a Trump-Carson ticket. That’s another matter. There’s something to contemplate. Whoever would have dreamed that one up even a year ago?” Mr. Simon said.

Something could be percolating. Breitbart News now says that GOP “outsiders” are surging, and other news organizations seem to agree. A new CNN/ORC poll finds Mr. Trump in the lead among those always-discerning Iowa Republican voters, with Mr. Carson in second place. When voters were asked which of the 17 Republican candidates represented their values, the doctor was in first place, followed by the billionaire.

Cruz more likely as VP.

Carson can pretty much name any job he wants otherwise.

I find Carson to be incredibly likable.

He also seems quite intelligent and sincere.

Imagine the courage it takes to stick a scalpel into a child’s brain! I’m nowhere near that brave...

He’s at least a thousand times preferable to the likes of Jeb?

If it’s Jeb v Clinton I’m throwing up my hands..it’s over...

I highly doubt that Carson would agree to be VP with Trump. I can see it with a number of others, but not Trump.

Not one primary and all prognostication is just wishful thinking. The polls mean nothing until a vote is cast. It will not turn out the way anyone can predict at present.

I can think of worse tickets....plenty of them actually looking at this field.

I always wonder how much of the Donald’s prior ‘stances’ on issues was predicated on the crowd he needed to survive in as a businessman. Every rich man in the US stokes both fires, Dem one Repub. And if the people you need to cooperate with you in business dealings are largely flaming libs, how does it help your cause to be seen as a staunch Conservative?...not much I suppose.

But I do not know where the Donald is coming from, and nor does most of America. Do we take him at his word that he is a reformed Conservative like Reagan? Or is he a Democrat plant?

I do not know...but if the choice amongst Repubs is another establishment loser like most of the field or the Donald, I’ll hear him out.

How about Trump/Cruz?

This election season is certainly interesting.

Yup, it's a very long and twisted road from here to election night.

There will be underhanded tricks of the worst sort...October surprises, candidate implosions, revelations, the rise of new candidates and great happenings on the world stage.

I’d lover Cruz/Trump ... the best man at the head of the ticket and enough money to run a great campaign!

Alas, I don’t think Trump would run as VP.

If Trump would do that then I would be certain he is sincere and thinking only of what’s best for the country... wouldn’t you?

I actually accept this speculation. Carly was fast tracking to VP. But she blew her foot off, like Rubio did with Chuck Schumer’s amnesty bill in the Senate. Carly jumped on Trump as a misogynist for saying that MyGYN Kelly (who got sent on vacation, in my opinion) was terrible for saying that MyGyN was bleeding out her “eyes” . Trump warned Carly to “watch it” tonight in New Hampshire, as well he should!! CARSON FOR VP!!

The Cheap Labor Express Candidates:

¡Yeb!
Rubberio
La Raza Rick Perry
Grahamnesty
NJFatBoy
Huckster
Kasich
Pataki
Fiorina
Paul

All of these people admit they are unwilling to uphold the rule of law and will surrender the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.

Do not vote for them unless you like the invasion/colonization/cheap labor importation.

Who cares about anyone’s suggestion for VP? The nominee picks the running mate. Same thing for cabinet members.

This reminds me of Warren Buffett while reading what you said. Buffett often times appears to be Obama’s butt boy probably because he is a businessman and has to tow the line in order to make his billions.

I can’t see Trump, IF he wins the primaries AND the general, sticking it out for 4 to 8 years. He would loose tons of Moola that he wouldn’t or couldn’t control while in office. That would give his VP a leg up especially if he were to resign after 2 years and a day. That would give the VP potentially 10 years in office.

Trump/Carson that is my ticket too.

There’s no reason Dr. Carson couldn’t lead the healthcare repeal and replacement as VP and at the same time learn more about the economy from Trump.

That have almost opposite personalities, but I think they would be good together. Trump isn’t going to have a yes man in Dr. Carson, but someone who will tell Trump what he thinks. Dr. Carson will not go against his principles, so if Trump picks Dr. Carson, I would feel better about Trump.

Trump gets the GOP nod or he goes third party. Not too hard to understand that, is it? He holds all the ace cards and we got nothing.

Trump doesn’t need anymore money. At this stage in his life, it’s the art of the deal that he wants, not the money.

I can’t think of anything more challenging than being President in today’s world.

Trump and Carson cannot be on the same ticket if Carson is to maintain any sense of decency and integrity.
