Hillary Jokes About Emails, Says She ‘Won’t Get Down in the Mud’ with GOP

Hillary Clinton joked about her private email server and insisted that Benghazi had nothing to do with her record as secretary of State at Iowa’s Democratic Wing Ding Dinner on Friday evening.

“By the way, you may have seen that I recently launched a Snapchat account. I love it. I love it. Those messages disappear all by themselves,” Clinton quipped near the beginning of the dinner.

This past week, the inspector general for the intelligence community determined that there was top secret information in just a minute sampling of the 30,000 emails on her private server turned over to the government. Clinton deleted tens of thousands more, saying they were personal and not work-related.

Clinton told the crowd that “for the past eight years, Republicans and their allies have attacked President Obama with everything they’ve got — now I’m in their crosshairs again.”

“But the real target isn’t me; it’s everything you and I believe in. It’s a progressive agenda that will help hardworking families get ahead. It’s a fairer tax code and tougher regulations on powerful corporations. That’s the fight we’re in,” she said.

“Now, they’ll try to tell you this is about Benghazi, but it’s not. Benghazi was a tragedy. Four dedicated public servants lost their lives, and we have to be focused on how to prevent future tragedies. But let’s be clear: seven exhaustive investigations, including a Republican-controlled House Armed Services Committee and the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee, have already debunked all of the conspiracy theories. It’s not about Benghazi.”

Clinton is scheduled to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi in open sessions on Oct. 22, where she’s guaranteed to be grilled before the cameras about her emails.

“You know what? It’s not about emails or servers either. It’s about politics. I will do my part to provide transparency to Americans. That’s why I’m insisting 55,000 pages of my emails be published as soon as possible,” she continued. “I’ve even offered to answer questions for months before Congress. I’ve just provided my server to the Justice Department. But here’s what I won’t do: I won’t get down in the mud with them. I won’t play politics with national security or dishonor the memory of those who we lost. I won’t pretend that this is anything other than what it is – the same old partisan games we’ve seen so many times before.”

Clinton also quipped about the 2008 documentary Hillary: The Movie, produced by Citizens United.

“A group of right-wing operatives made a hit-job film with the goal of stopping a Democrat from taking the White House, and then used shadowy money to promote it… I can tell you, it was no ‘Field of Dreams’ or ‘Bridges of Madison County.’ They took aim at me, but they ended up damaging our entire democracy. We can’t let them pull that same trick again,” she said, vowing to pass a constitutional amendment if necessary to undo the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

Clinton was joined at the dinner by recently retired Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), who has endorsed Hillary.

At one point Clinton started coughing during her speech, and while reaching for water noted, “I’ve been talking too much.”

“Not enough!” an audience member yelled out.

Clinton also gave herself a pat on the back for laying the groundwork for the Iran nuclear deal.

“As Secretary of State, I traveled tens of thousands of miles and twisted a lot of arms to build a global coalition against Iran and impose the most crippling sanctions in history. That pressure delivered a blow to Iran’s economy and gave us the leverage necessary to get to the negotiating table and begin the first preliminary talks,” she said.

“None of us should have any illusions about Iran’s true intentions or its continuing threats to the region, to Israel, to the United States… This agreement, combined with strong enforcement and deterrence, is the only way to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. There is simply no viable alternative. That is why I strongly support President Obama.’”

she continued. “I’ve even offered to answer questions for months before Congress."

But you haven't. Now you can tell it to the FBI.

Trump has mentioned the server, but Gowdy is doing his Congressional duty and Trump merely responded to a question. I repeat: None of the Republicans are bringing up her crimes.

Amen, the Republicans should be ripping her apart on a daily basis.

The Republican professional politicians are too busy trying to further their own careers and legacy. It's why the Republicans and MSM are spending most of their time attacking Trump looking for any misspoken word so they can try to twist it and discredit him.

They're even attacking Trump on words he never even said, demanding he apologize for what they imagined he said. So Trump is attempting to defend himself from their cult like politically correct accusations and hysteria.

This is a really good article that gives me some hope:

Hillary's Private Emails: The Vise Slowly Tightens

What he says seems sensible to me (not that the government/Otreason administration is sensible, but .....) A few excerpts - it's worth it to read the whole thing:

The political class is seriously underestimating the impact of Hillary Clinton’s email controversy. They see it mainly as a problem of public opinion and electoral politics, where it has been increasingly costly but not yet fatal. The political damage—the drip, drip, drip of revelations—has been bad, but there is worse to come.

Hillary Clinton’s big problem now is legal, and it could well be insurmountable politically. Here’s why. Once a “political” issue finally moves into the legal system, as the Clinton email server has, it moves forward with an independent logic. That logic will slowly ensnare Secretary Clinton.

You can already see it happening. Two weeks ago, the Department of Justice acknowledged that it “has received a referral related to the potential compromise of classified information.” The referral was not criminal, and the Clinton camp immediately pummeled the New York Times’ sloppy reporting that it was. But that’s small ball and misleading at that. The DOJ is not investigating a civil matter here. It is investigating a crime. As that investigation moves forward, it will take on a life of its own, as it should in a government of laws.

Even if the Department of Justice is highly politicized—and it is—there is a powerful legal procedure here that will be hard to kill off. It began when the intelligence community’s inspector general, I. Charles McCullough III, and his counterpart at the State Department, Steve Linick, made a referral to DOJ, saying that classified materials may have been compromised. McCullough also wrote Congress that a spot check of 40 Clinton emails showed that "four contained classified [intelligence community] information." That meant classified materials were being held in an unauthorized, insecure site—the Clinton server. In fact, the materials were also being held in a second unauthorized site. Clinton had given the materials to her attorney, David Kendall, on thumb-drives for his safekeeping. Since the communications are, by her own admission, official business and possibly classified, she may not have been authorized to transfer them, nor he to receive them.

The FBI has clear legal responsibilities when it is presented with such a referral. It must investigate and secure the materials. Fortunately, the FBI is run by a director with a reputation for independence and integrity. James Comey’s agency has now gotten the server and thumb-drives, the ones Clinton said she would never give up. She had no choice but to surrender them or face obstruction-of-justice charges.

The legal and bureaucratic wheels will keep turning, and they will grind exceedingly fine. Since classified information was on the server, the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, and other intelligence services will be tasked with going through thousands of documents. They will want to know where the information originated, whether it was classified (either when it was received or later), and whether senior officials like Secretary Clinton and her top aides should have known the material was sensitive or subject to classification, even if it was not marked that way at the time. The intelligence agencies are already livid about this breach of security, and they will go through this material carefully. My guess is they will find hundreds of documents that should never have left a secure government location.

That’s more evasive PC babble from a known deceptive liar.

It’s interpreted as, “I have no intention of discussing it with them”.

Partisan games Bull Poop.

If Ted Cruz did those things, let those men die, had the private server zooming out top secret emails from his basement, I’d want him in fed prison as well. Heck, I’d want my own son arrested for those same crimes. This has NOTHING to do with what color jersey you have on.

Probably the last thing Vince Foster heard her say was, “You know this isn’t personal, Vince. You’ve always been a good friend.”

Hillary WOULD do it, but why would Huma? She has Muslim Brotherhood connections, she knows a LOT of Hillary’s secrets. She has a lot of power on her side.

There is one way to blame it all on Huma. If poor Mrs, Weiner were to commit suicide like they do in Arkansas over all the Horrible Guilt she has messing with a server Hillary knew nothing about, and not getting the messages promptly to Hillary when Ambassador Stevens was begging for more security, and of course tricking Hillary and Obama with that stupid Muslim video. Huma should start secretly recording their trysts, never sleep over, and get a food taster. Her “suicide” would be verrrrrrrry convenient about now.
