A lot of words on the fantasy of man-made global climate whatever...

Nothing on the genocidal homicide of innocent babies for profit by harvesting their organs.

What was that Catholic Church?...I can't hear you OVER THE CRICKETS !!!!

& when was the last time you heard a homily on abortion? I haven’t in years but then I go to a Franciscan parish. I think they take all the priests who the Jesuits found too left-wing.

The Church ALREADY accepts married priests.

We have a large number of them in my own archdiocese. Mostly converts from the Episcopalian Church.

BTW-—I have no problem with married priests...

As long as it is heterosexual maariage.

Very true. The Church accepts priests from Anglican and certain Orthodox churches with their families.

Makes the current celibacy for all others even more nonsensical.

Right now we have a situation elsewhere in town where one priest with no assistants is in charge of 3 parishes. He just went on sick leave. No one to take his place. All Masses canceled until further notice.

Most recent anti-abortion homily I’ve heard was delivered by a married Deacon, by the way.

Every once in awhile, we attend St Boniface Traditional Latin Mass in the North Side Pittsburgh. It is a little over an hour away and we rarely go, but it does my heart good to attend and I always feel as if I’ve come home. I note the number of young families in attendance. A very well attended mass. I admit that I have not attended our home parish in several years. I had not felt comfortable there in a long time.

I think celibacy is nonsensical policy.

A relic from the Middle Ages implemented as a response to corruption.

It doesn’t make any sense.

As a fellow Catholic I could not agree with you more. I am sickened by silence of the Catholic Bishops on so many moral issues today and the silence from the pulpit of our local pastors. I listen to the gospel every Sunday and I hear reflections on what I just heard but that is as far as it goes it seems. We, you and I, are the Church, not the so-called leaders, and we, us, must speak to those in charge of our local parishes in order to effect change. It must start with us. We cannot remain silent in the pews and expect anything to change. JMHO

I have noticed the Carholic church’s lack of a strong stance regarding this latest inhumanity of PP and I was very surprised, as for all its back-and-forthness in being liberal in some areas, the Catholic church has always been staunch on this issue, the value of innocent human life. If anyone in leadership in the Carholic church has come out and made a strong statement regarding this PP latest depravity, it either didn’t get much play in the news or the Church didn’t see fit to say it loudly. I have really been surprised, because for all its liberalism in some areas, in some eras, it has never before wavered or been silent or whispered when it comes to abortion and the sickening torture/murder and subsequent selling of the organs of innocent babies.

The Catholic church lost its way a long time ago.
I came back from VN in 1968 and the first Mass I attended turned out to be a Folk Mass, replete with dirty, long haired, dope smoking hippies singing/strumming and flashing the peace sign.
That was it for me.

Since the PP videos began leaking I don’t believe that the Pope has made a single statement addressing them..

Over that same time period he has made a number of high-profile statements regarding climate change.

I really wonder sometimes, if the Church would rather have us as we were in the Dark Ages: ignorant, sickly and destitute...dependent upon kings for our measly sustinence, and dependent upon popes for our spritual enlightenment.

According to my late uncle, who was a non-Communist Jesuit, the answer is yes. In his view the Church leadership had never come to grips with the fact that the flock today is literate, highly educated, and able to read the Bible for themselves. They no longer needed men in black robes and pointy red hats to dole out the interpretation to them.

I'm sure most of them would be more comfortable returning to the Dark Ages.

Can it be that our beloved bishops have – unconsciously, of course, just like the Cardinal’s target audience of “nativist” lay Catholics — could it be that our bishops have been bribed into silence by that billion dollars a year?

No! Your 'beloved' bishops have not been unconsciously bribed. They have been loud, willing participants in the willful destruction of this country! They clamored for obamacare...only dissenting when it hurt THEM!, They support obama's illegal and unconstitutional destruction of our immigration laws and they've been willing supporters of every stupid left wing cause that has ever come down the road.

They still claim to defend life...however, when I was still Catholic I stopped giving to any diocesan collection because it was discovered that employees of Catholic Charities were arranging for underage girls to have abortions.

What a nightmare!!!

The ill effects of Vatican 2, the church trying to conform to the “modern” world, are still being felt. As long as apostates such as Dolan and Frankie have the reins, people will continue to leave the church, and who can blame them? I am fortunate in that there is a church somewhat near me that still practices pre-Vatican 2 Tridentine mass. It is at a SSPX Benedictine monastery, and it is truly a breath of fresh air to be able to discuss the “errors” of Dolan and Frank with the clergy in complete agreement!

To any who are thinking of leaving the church because of people like Frankie and Dolan, or the hypocrisy of “Catholics” like Pelosi, I would strongly encourage you to seek out a church that has traditional, pre-Vatican 2 mass before leaving. I think you’d be pleasantly surprised in all you will find.

Maybe the church has lost touch with the basics.

“What has happened to our hearts?”

This could be asked in any church, Catholic, evangelical, or Orthodox.

I was born and raised Catholic, but stopped going to this corrupt church in the 1980’s, when I lived in southern California.

The cardinal then was the communist scumbag Roger Mahoney, the fool who was cardinal before the current communist scumbag Jose Gomez.

Mahoney open called for Californians to vote for democrats, was pushing open borders, and never saw a gun grabbing law he didn’t want to support. He also covered up for a priest involved in the abuse scandals. Meanwhile, he flew around the Los Angeles basin in a private helicopter, like King Faruk.

The rest of the cardinals and most of the bishops in America are of the same mindset, and so is the current pathetic excuse of a pope.

Let me know when Jesus returns, because He is the only one I will pay attention to and follow.

BCFS (Baptist Children and Family Services) must be running a close second in that. They are getting millions of federal dollars for illegal immigrant services.

I think Time said a billion dollars.
