Well there’s this pesky thing call the 4th amendment that apparently is so yesterday...

The NSA should be listening to all international calls. I have no problem with that.

The NSA should not be monitoring domestic calls where both ends are in the states unless they have actual evidence that a crime is being planned/committed and go before a judge to get a wiretap court order. It may be inconvenient but that is the law of the land and should be followed.

Bah.
The only question is whether the NSA or the companies collect and keep the data.

So Trump is right.

It’s called being fooled. Cruz has shown extraordinary leadership and has a good Conservative rating as well as a voting record to prove it. All you have is some reality show former democrat & Hillary supporter’s word. And you seem to believe him. Good luck with that.

I remember for years on FR all we had to worry about was the Rand Paul crazies. Now it seems there are very few sane conservatives left on this site. Could be why it’s taking longer and longer to reach FR fundraising goals.

Trump is like the pied piper and so many conservatives seem to be eager to run off the side of the cliff:(

You’ll have to include Cruz running off that cliff. He did not write Kate’s Law until after Trump showed leadership on immigration issues.

So the 4th amendment makes terrorist feature bonkers so they stand out in the USA or do we need our eyes and ears open regarding enemies that say the want us dead?

We are not in the pre 9-11 world security wise anymore.

If we get a city blasted are you going to say, “But but but, the 4th Amendment”?

What acts of terrorism has this data prevented?

Any criminal acts prevented by this data?

Rather than have my government spying on me, I’d sooner support a plan to move entire communities of unassimilated muslims and illegal aliens out of my country.

Just get them out, and don’t bring them back, and no I do not feel guilty about it at all.

“they just passed legislation stopping the mass data collection of phone records. “

Not really. They transferred the responsibility to do it from the NSA to the companies. The data’s still there and the NSA can examine it under the same rules they used before.
I do, and thought at the time of the Patriot Act debate, that this is a better way to do it. It’s there and the government can see it when they have a ‘good’ reason.
But it’s a little less likely to be abused.

Yes it is very important. But you also have to trust the candidate. What do you have that shows that Trump is a solid conservative?

I have not been 100% in line with everything Cruz has done but when I’ve compared the candidates side by side he has more positives than negatives. There are places where you can get help using this type of logic to compare candidates. One of them is Conservative Review. You can compare Trump to other candidates there.

Cruz is solid on most issues. He has an amazing record and background with an emphasis on Constitutional issues. Trump has no background to compare with this. But as I said. It is pointless. The fix is in. This country is about to make another stupid decision based on emotion that will put a fork in the US and finish us off. God help us.

Freedom comes with risks.

Using “terrorists” as an excuse to lose our most basic freedoms is a bridge too far for me.

And if you disagree with the 4th amendment then get rid of it, don’t ignore it. By ignoring it you are granting permission for the government to become completely lawless - which it has. And people wonder how we got here...

Whatever you say. Like I said. There is no point in arguing with insanity. You can’t reason a person out of a position that they didn’t use reason to get to in the first place.

Unconstitutional data collection is more than a 5% disagreement. The guy is no constitution alust... He will govern via the pen just like Obama. We don’t need another executive order pres.

“Well, it’s not in line with mine!”

We really need are cameras and microphones on members of Congress making deals with lobbyist pals, and those in the White House, and those who pander to elites while they call themselves public servants.

We do not need a government that rules us. We need a government that without any BS works and serves us, and gives the citizens ultimate opportunities instead of corruption.

I’m hopeful that Trump doesn’t become just another patsy for big government. The first order of business for big government always involves monitoring and muzzling the sheep instead of government hacks.

Smart people try to reduce their risks of attack when they can.
We are at war.

Trump will be fine. Like I said the Congress decides the NSA stuff not the President.

If Trump can kick out 1/4 of the illegals, build a fence and re-negotiate our trade deals it will be more than Bush ever did.

NSA was not “listening in” on phone calls. They were just collecting the metadata. Sheesh.

Terrorists won’t stick out for us.
They will not go bonkers before attacks.
They won’t run around with erections to stand out (except in Nude clubs).

We have to find them especially among us.

We are at war and can not limit what we can do.

Show Isis a copy of the 4th Amendment and they will still cut your head off with a blunt knife.

It’s called being fooled. Cruz has shown extraordinary leadership and has a good Conservative rating as well as a voting record to prove it.

You don't get it. Americans love a fighter and someone who tells it like it is. Cruz doesn't have nor is feeling the absolute raw anger that Americans are feeling towards Washington.

That's why Trump is popular. It is called fighting back against the Left and political correctness. While Cruz has fought back, he hasn't done it the way Trump has.

It doesn't matter that Trump donated to the Clintons (and living in NYC, Hell, I'd donate to liberals too), or his past positions. He is correct on THE #1 issue of the day, and that is illegal aliens who want to turn this nation into a garishly-colored, cars-without-tires-on-the-lawn, loud Marachi music playing at 3am, Northern Mexico.
