Blatant lie from Bushbot PeRino. If she was honest, she should have said "You are out because you came ILLEGALLY from Costa Rica, not because you are Costa Rican LEGAL immigrant"
The proper response would be, I would think: “Child, I’m very sorry that you’re in this situation, but I did not put you there. I’m simply here to enforce the laws. Your parents broke the laws, and there is no reason to let them simply get away with it, no matter their sincere reasons for doing it. If your classmate’s parents were both convicted of bank fraud and had to go to jail, we would not simply let them go because it would be a hardship on your classmate. Your parents broke federal laws, and THEY put you in this very tough position. You can now choose: stay in the US and become a ward of the state, or go to Costa Rica and stay with relatives there, or go back to Costa Rica with your parents (if ICE allows them to choose deportation). Again, you have my sympathies that your parents did this to you. It is not my fault that you’re in this position, but I have to arrest law-breakers, for the good of everyone.”
