DONALD TRUMP: SIMPLY UNSTOPPABLE
http://www.wnd.com ^ | August 18, 2015 | Barry Farber

Posted on 08/18/2015 7:42:50 PM PDT by NKP_Vet

Admit it. Donald Trump is a volcano in a forest of Ronson lighters.

You’re not going to stop him. He may carry all 50 states.

The awareness of Trump’s invincibility is dawning slowly for several reasons. Nobody wants to be revealed as a fool if Trump flames out. Also, such a breathtaking prediction hates to be borne all alone. “Out on a limb” is a lonely place for a pundit to be. Then, too, a lot of heretofore wise observers are obeying the instinct to adopt a “business as usual” stance. We put subconscious pressure on ourselves so that yesterday’s “clown-by-consensus” isn’t too abruptly hailed as the winner this absurdly long before the first vote is cast. The dreamers in the GOP are still reassuring one another that Trump’s domination is a “summertime thing,” and that come fall the public anger will be gone and the people will ask themselves, “Is this the kind of person we want in the Oval Office?” Dream on, Dear Establishment. People are already asking that question, and the answer is not just “Yes”; it’s “Hell, Yes!”

Eight years ago Americans decided to take a chance on a “community organizer” without one single discernable accomplishment, not even authorship of his own book! (Thank you, Jack Cashill!) Obama was editor of the Harvard Law Review – and never wrote a single editorial. And we elected and re-elected him.

And now we’re taking the measure of a billionaire 11 times over who’s boldly carved his signature in stone and steel and golf-course green around the world, written best-selling books and produced and starred in dazzlingly high-rated TV shows, and you’re trying to tell me this world-class accomplishmentarian is a summertime thing set to evaporate with the first fall chill? In a pig’s eye!

Excuse me for interrupting but this article explains Trump’s position on Obamacare. I’ve heard him trash it many times in his standard stump speech, too.

We have to save ourselves as a sovereign nation so that we CAN deal with the other issues.

Yes, I agree with both you and Mother Teresa:
"America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has shown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father's role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts ~ a child ~ as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience.

"It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters. And in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign." -Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, "Notable and Quotable," Wall Street Journal, 2/25/94

I did not realize Barry Farber was still around. I always enjoyed his radio show, but not so much when he was paired with Alan Colmes.

“Nobody is going to get everything, from one candidate, in any election.

We have to save ourselves as a sovereign nation so that we CAN deal with the other issues.”

Very well said! If a President Trump, really fixes the border, and the trade imbalance, he will have saved the country. Without those basic changes, we simply don’t have a viable country for much longer. Personally, I’d like to see a major effort on putting the people who made this mess away too.

He has denounced it and vows to repeal it.

This is what he said in his book:

“Nancy Pelosi said Congress had to pass Obamacare so we could find out what’s in it. Now we have. And what’s inside those 2,733 pages is a job-killing, health care-destroying monstrosity. It can’t be reformed, salvaged, or fixed.”

“Destroying the world’s finest health-care system so that Obama can have his socialized medicine program is reckless and foolish. The proper way to bring the cost of health-care down is to make insurance companies compete nationally and get defensive medicine under control through serious tort reform that includes loser pays provisions.”

Trump, Donald J. (2011-12-06). Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again (p. 134). Regnery Publishing. Kindle Edition.

These are two paragraphs from his book. One from the first of the chapter and one from the last of the chapter.

"Do you think he will agree to put his assets in trust while he is president?

i understand there is no way around it.

He cannot direct his own money in any way."

I'm sure he would use a blind trust, but since he rakes in so much dough from real estate rent and fees and the like, it will appear less blind than you think. In other words, if the economy starts booming he will be fully aware that his assets are ringing the cash register.

And this isn't really a bad thing at all. Previous Presidents like Clinton and Barry had no huge assets going in to office that would benefit/crash on account of the performance of the economy. They had no skin in the game, hence their concern was lacking.

Your question is interesting though because there is no Constitutional requirement to use a blind trust. The check and balance is the old fallback - Congressional scrutiny and threat of impeachment. Who wants to bet that if there were a (D)ummycrat Congress and Trump in the white house that they would suddenly find religion and exercise their oversight.

I think it’s important to just move forward as best we can, using the best choices available to us; and giving up resentment and revenge.

Present and Future are what matter. The past takes care of itself - and looks as if it’s already doing so :-)
