I received a phone call yesterday afternoon, Aug 18. I have many family members in WV and they were telling me a strange tale. The local press does not seem to want to cover this yet.
Due to some strange chance of genetics, I have familial ties with some government officials and legal folks in WV.
The info I received that followed this story had some verifiable links and a part of a story that I didnt have time to check yesterday evening, but I figured I would do that today Aug 19.
Part of the email had to do with the removal of the statue of Sen. Robert C Byrd from the West Virginia capitol rotunda.
The story goes that the Local NAACP (JCWV NAACP) Chapter, along with the Southern Poverty Law Center had been on a petition drive and has collected a considerable number of signatures demanding the removal of the Senator Byrd statue from State Capitol Building. The petitions in question also include the numerous bridges and parks and other projects that are named for the late Senator and Former Influential Ku Klux Klan leader. (( Last night the following link worked and confirmed the essence of the info I received, but today the link does not work ))

The petition demands that plaques that mention Senator Robert C Byrd be removed from bridges, highways and other public work projects.
Senator Byrd is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jul/6/byrd-be-buried-arlington-cemetery/
and the petition further demands that the late Senators body be removed from that place of honor due to his historic connection to the Ku Klux Klan, an American Terrorist Organization according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Numerous phone calls to Senator Mitch McConnell were placed and high ranking staffers, who wished to remain unnamed, confirmed that there were possibly actions being discussed regarding the Late Senator Byrd, but no details will be officially disclosed for now.

The Office of the Governor of WV, Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin, when called, declined to comment on this development. (( contact info at bottom of page ))

The petition had an area for suggestions on who might replace the Statue of Senator Byrd in the Capitol.
Malcom X seems to be the overwhelming option among those who entered a choice.
West Virginia is on edge.
We see entirely too much of Bobby Byrd ... but replacing a white socialist racist with a black socialist racist would be outrageous.
Dear Lord, must I deal with this crap every day?
West Virginia is nearing the end of a two decade long transition from democrat labor-union stronghold to Republican stronghold. Do some research.
was the place things turned hot first.
The demonicrat party has lost its grip on WV ... if it 'turns hot' here first, it will go very badly for the demonicrats.
I guess because the KKK is views as a terrorist group and Byrd was an influential member at one point in his life, so the tie with Byrd to a terrorist org. Then his statue in the Rotunda...like a celebration of a Nationan Figure with racist/Terrorist ties...
I think it is interesting.
1. Misinformation about where Byrd is buried
2. Why would Mitch McConnell be consulted? He is not from WV, and a decision to remove Byrd's statue would have absolutely NOTHING to do with him - there is no reason he would be consulted, and
3. Malcolm X? Really? I sincerely doubt that.
I seriously think this "email" is a hoax.
Right. Nothing really makes any sense. Not that there couldn’t be something to it, but you can’t see that from what’s in the post.
