Over the past month of the presidential campaign, there have been multiple surprises (Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump), the relatively expected (Hillary Clinton), and the disappointing (Chris Christie, Rick Perry, and Rand Paul).
With less than 450 days until the 2016 election, here's another look at who has the best chance of making it to the White House to succeed President Barack Obama.
Our rankings are based on the Real Clear Politics averages of national polls and those in New Hampshire and Iowa. We also factor in candidates' fundraising numbers released last month and their momentum (or lack thereof) over the past few weeks, especially after the first Republican presidential debate earlier this month.
Here's a look at where all the candidates stand.

I pretty much don't pay attention to polls any more...the questions can be constructed to skew the results to push an agenda...
I'm sure you're not the only one. I'm also sure that, for every person like you, there are three more who tune in BECAUSE of Trump--whether they agree with what he says or just want to see what "outrageous" thing he says next.

At this point it is entirely up to Obama to decide whether Hillary will be allowed the nomination.
What is their past history on choosing: “who has the best chance at being our next president”?
You can’t buy this much publicity. It costs Trump nothing, All Trump all the time.
Exactly. When they take down Trump, my man Ted Cruz steps up. Way up!
Why hasn’t Cruz stepped up, way up, yet?
I am a Cruz supporter, and I find myself wondering why Cruz’s numbers remain consistently low.
I also find myself wondering people think that if trump leaves the race, which I don’t see any reason at all why he would, why his supporters would then default to Cruz.
At this point I see a very viable ticket being Trump/ Cruz.
The latest news show to benefit from Donald Trump is Meet the Press. Capping off a stretch of several strong weeks for the NBC show, Chuck Todd’s interviews with the Republican presidential candidate (his only appearance on the Sunday shows) Sen. Bernie Sanders drove ratings to its biggest audience since February 2014. That easily makes it the most-watched since Todd took over from David Gregory last August.
You cannot go by the media’s “polls” that are propaganda tools used to guide the masses, not measure their positions. Cruz is playing it just right. If you’re a supporter you should be working on his campaign.
Hillary isn’t going to be president, doesn’t matter what the pointy heads say.

I am a Cruz supporter, but I am also a realist.
Cruz is not currently in a position to win the nomination, his numbers have never really been that impressive.
I wish I could say different, but that’s the way it’s been.
And yes, some polls are fraudulent, but most really aren’t.
They generally reflect the current state of things.
For example, the polls showing Trump with the mojo are accurate.
Cruz not going to win.
Get him in the VP slot and set him up for the next round.
Although, if Roberts has a heart attack and dies would like to see President Trump nominate Cruz
It definitely does not appear to be the case, at least not at this time.
Yes, Cruz is a good man.
Has he shown the ability to capture the attention of large selections of American voters? No.
Has he shown the ability to attract people outside of the Republican party? No.
Does he have an X-factor? An unnameable quality that attracts people to him that may otherwise not be attracted to him? No.
Are there places for such a man in a Trump admin? Yes.
We will see how it plays out, but right now Trump has left them all in his dust.
It doesn’t seem like people are very interested in candidates from within the GOP, even if that candidate’s name is Cruz.
Rubio will rise as he takes Hillary’s place on the Democrat ticket.
He is a true library who has no shame, just like Cristina and Specter.
