Russia S300 Deal Confirms Iran On Road To Nukes
American Thinker ^ | August 20, 2015 | Daniel John Sobieski

Posted on 08/20/2015 10:05:24 AM PDT by raptor22

Confirmation of Iran’s intention to develop nuclear weapons comes in the form of the announcement that the sale of Russia’s sophisticated and state-of-the-art S300 air and missile defense missile system has now reached the delivery stage. One does not need such weaponry to defend reactors generating nothing but electricity.

In touting his deal with Iran over its nuclear program, which at best merely kicks the can past the end of his presidency so others can be blamed when it fails, President Obama has said that if Iran breaks the agreement we will know it. That sale and delivery of the sophisticated S-300 missile system designed to defend against aircraft and cruise missiles to Tehran should already tell us Tehran has every intention of breaking the agreement that is already shaping up to be a Middle Eastern Munich.

A totally ridiculous statement.

Much as I distrust Iran, that was, at the very least, a non sequitur.

How is it ‘ridiculous’? Especially in a decades long policy of nonproliferation?

This is one more example of what a malignancy Putin is to the world, and it is another example of the anti-Christian nature of his pro-mad-mullah foreign policy.

No kidding. The author undermines his case with that kind of silly “logic.”

Except Russia is supporting the government of Syria which is defending Christians while the government of the USA is supporting rebels who persecute Christians.

Ask the Christians in the Middle East themselves whose policies they see as anti-Christian.

The Russians are as stupid as the Chinese and the democrats in America. Give madmen nuclear weapons and you are gonna get attacked at some point.

By your logic, the government of Iran is pro-Christian because it supports Assad, a mass murderer. And I know mass murder is against one of the Ten Commandments, but I’m sure a Putinista wouldn’t think so.

Actually, the fact that the Iranians have gotten the US to agree to help protect their nuclear reactors from sabotage, is proof enough that Iran is going nuclear. No one claimed the Israeli’s struck Saddams’s reactor under false pretenses. No one claimed the Israeli’s struck the Syrian reactor under false pretenses. So why would the Iranians be afraid ? And if nuclear sabotage is even an issue, why risk your population for an energy source you do not need ? We live in a world where logic need not apply.

Stop trying to dance around the issue. I’m making a factual observation that Iran is on the pro-Christian side of the Syrian civil war. How that is interpreted or fit into a larger view of things is subjective.

I’m troubled by the lack of concern for the plight of Christians in Syria and the Middle East more broadly on the part of neocons. The don’t care that their polices consistently hurt Christians, to the point where some of the oldest Christian communities in the world are now threatened with extinction as a result of their war in Iraq and attempts to overthrow the government of Syria. When this is pointed out to them, they react with hostility and rage.

Neocons are the ones who need to explain their support for anti-Christian policies in Syria.

Nonsense. You're supporting the Assad, Ayatollah, Putin Axis that created the war on the Syrian people and has spun way out of his control. Assad and the Iranians were supporting the killing of American soldiers and other service members in Iraq long before ISIS and al Qaeda turned on the Assad. This is simply blowback. Assad started killing Syrians, too, before he became a target of ISIS and al Qaeda. The Christian victims are a just and deserving concern. But blaming the neo-cons and ignoring Assad, the mad mullahs, and Putin or claiming they're the saviors of Christians is sloppy thinking at best.
