At least 16 cases of AIDS were reported in the ranks of the Islamic State radical group (IS/ISIS) in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, medical sources reported on Tuesday.
Medical sources in the national hospital of al-Mayadeen told ARA News that more than 16 IS militants are currently held in a quarantine center after being tested positive with AIDS.
“Most of those infected are foreign militants who had sexual intercourses with two Moroccan women. The women passed on the disease to the militants before their infection was revealed. We were ordered by the group’s local leadership to transfer the infected militants to a quarantine center in the city,” a Syrian doctor in al-Mayadeen told ARA News on the condition of anonymity.
The source added that the two Moroccan women escaped to Turkey “for fear of execution by the IS”.
A state of panic hit the group’s ranks in Deir ez-Zor after the cases of AIDS were uncovered. The IS leadership issued a decision through its Sharia Commission to run tests for AIDS on its members in Deir ez-Zor in order to avoid further spread of the disease.
“IS leadership is planning to assign suicide attacks for its militants who are tested positive with AIDS,” a civil rights activist in al-Mayadeen reported.
This comes three months after reports on similar cases among IS militants in the city of Shaddadi in Hasakah province, where an Indonesian fighter of IS passed AIDS on to his Yezidi sex slave. The same slave has been later sold to other members of the radical group, causing a state of panic in the ranks of IS in Shaddadi.
The infected militant has also donated blood at an IS-held hospital in Shaddadi earlier in May, before being tested positive with AIDS, which raised the group’s concerns about possible infection of dozens other militants.
The radical group executed the Indonesian militant and a Saudi doctor who revealed the information on the spread of AIDS in Shaddadi city last June.

As I understand it, the receiving party is at much higher risk of being infected. I agree with the earlier poster that guy on guy stuff is far more likely to be the cause of the infections.
The infection rate female to male is actually very low. I suspect most if not all these infections were male to male transmission. Karma can be a real bitch some days!
Phil Robertson might disagree. The issue is swapping blood, and fluids. Certainly, the receiving party is at much greater risk, but still. I suspect STDs are gonna be a problem for ISIS veterans far into the future.

Obviously, both parties have hygiene issues with such a practice. However, the receiving party has a much, much higher possibility of exposing their circulatory system to potential infection than the giving party (unless he has open wounds on his penis). The possibility of female to male transmission (even with this high-risk practice) is very low. In all likelihood, the ISIS boys got this infection from their buddies or a needle.
Without getting into the mechanics, as Phil will tell you, the chances of getting a tear on your penis are greater when you engage in anal sex. Even having unprotected vaginal sex with an infected woman, especially if the woman is unresponsive or anxious, poses real risks. I don’t have the epidemiological data at my finger tips, but it is not a risk I would knowingly take.
Unless someone allows themselves to be penetrated by an infected male or uses infected needles, it is very hard to get AIDS/HIV. Not impossible but very hard. Someone who is wildly promiscuous like Magic apparently was could theoretically get it from heterosexual relations but the chances are small.
Didn't Isaiah Thomas catch a bunch of flak for suggesting that Magic swung both ways (which Thomas quickly retracted)?
I am willing to give Magic the benefit of the doubt. It is possible that he got HIV from a needle. I'm not implying that Magic is a drug user but as an elite athlete I'm sure that he was constantly getting injections and was exposed to lots of needles in a period when little was known about HIV prevention.
While that explanation makes sense about how the penetrating partner could be exposed, it is still far, far more likely that they got the infection from their buddies when they were the penetrated or using dirty needles. Haven’t there been reports that meth use is rampant among ISIS fighters?

Wasn’t there a story when Isis first came on the seen about homo rape of recruits and video them so they wouldn’t desert. And there was also stories about serious drug use being a main driver behind the onslaught; amphetamines I think. Should make for a rapid onset of the disease.
I don’t think they were screening blood that was donated, just commenting that these men had donated. And yes I can see O,as a peace gesture, bringing these men to US for free treatment.
