I’m a Cruz fan but he does have some ‘splainin’ to do on this one.

Trump and Cruz are miles apart on legal immigration......but Cruz's transparent "VP-pick-me" gambit insists the two bonded over the issue of illegal immigration...

Scott Walker is far closer.

A huge red flag is that Cruz grovels for latino votes....consistently depicts himself as "latino" Yet his family bgrnd indicates he's only 1/3 latino. He's been living large, seeking the spotlight. off his last name for ages. Could be a latino "us against them" battle-cry behind all the conservative blather,

And while Trump has ignited America's visceral contempt for politicians...voters will be aghast knowing Cruz has been running around like crazy, becoming a Washington Insider.

He is the chairman of the subcommittee on the Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.[7] He is also the chairman of the United States Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Space, Science and Competitiveness, U.S. Senate Commerce Committee.

Between 1999 and 2003, Cruz was the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an associate deputy attorney general at the United States Department of Justice, and domestic policy advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign. He served as Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to May 2008, after being appointed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.[8]

Cruz was also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, from 2004 to 2009.[12][13] While there, he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation.[12]

How come Trump is the only one to state something so damned obviously the correct policy - that immigration policy should benefit the American citizenry first and foremost.

While the real estate mogul’s plan calls for a swath of protectionist measures to curb legal immigration,

Lol, the writer forgot to say racist. They can't even discuss immigration policy without dragging out their tired old slur words. Now, even thinking about lower legal immigration is protectionist. This nation has changed the level of legal immigration many times and its only logical to do so as economic conditions change.

Cruz is wrong on this. Sometimes his policy sounds like: let so many come legally that no one will have to come illegally.

Hb1 and the little known HB2 visas are killing lower and middle class America.

Ted Cruz support for Obamatrade was shameful as well.

The net immigration is what matters: it should be whatever is best for the whole country. And practically none of it illegal.
Since ending illegal immigration will require ‘some’ increase in legal immigration with our demographics I don’t see a real point here.

Nonetheless Cruz did err on his H1B numbers and is fair game for it.

I like Cruz but he’s dead wrong here. We need a timeout on ALL immigration. The left has been on a raging campaign to turn this country into a third world hell hole and it needs to stop!

That is one if my two reasons for backing Trump over Cruz (the other is electability). 1 million+ legal immigrants every year is insane. That is more than the 1907 peak at Ellis Island, when the cities desperately needed new immigrants. With massive unemployment, entitlement overloads and coming wave of automation, America does not need and cannot support more legal immigrants.

Santorum has been saying that we need to limit H1B visas as well along with a reduction of at least 25% in legal immigration.

Legal immigrants and illegals both vote for democrats. So if we want to stop socialism/democrats then we have to reduce legal and illegal immigration into the USA.

Democrats imported all these 3rd world people legally to replace us , outnumber us with leftists, to outvote us conservatives. Reduce legal and illegal immigration:It's the only way to save America to stop this invasion of leftist voters for democrats.

Trump is right on wanting to reduce legal immigration. Cruz is wrong on wanting to increase legal immigrants because they will vote for those that are against conservative policies thereby defeating them

A must read for every American. Ann Coulter explains how legal 3rd world immigrants and illegal immigrants are turning the USA into a 3rd world socialist hell hole

I have a serious issue with the whole ‘skilled workers’ thing. Over time, it hurts us badly.

For years, medical schools have enforced limits on the number of doctors who they’d allow in their hallowed halls. But this has left us with a ‘doctor shortage’. Well, now we need to import doctors.

This means that American kids were denied the opportunity to get into a prestigious, skilled profession and now a *huge* portion of our specialists are foreign. I cannot count the number of Indian or African doctors who I’ve visited.

That was 2013, this is 2015. What is Cruz’s stance now?

Personally I agree with Trump and have said it since ‘05. Shutdown all immigration until we get our house in order for 5 years. This means our border is secure and we have rounded up all the illegal aliens, including Visa overstays.

Then start the LEGAL process over again.

However, I also understand that I cannot agree 100% with a Presidential candidate on all of the issues. I have to pick my priorities and way them out.

Cruz is tough enough on ILLEGAL alien invasion

Cruz is a constitutional scholar and knows the law and will enforce it.

Cruz believes in God and is a practicing Christian.

Cruz speaks the truth about radical Islam

GO CRUZ GO and make Trump your VP

During the 2013 immigration debate, the Texas senator proposed an amendment to the comprehensive “gang of eight” Senate bill that he boasted would “dramatically increas[e]” the annual limit on H-1B skilled guest worker visas from—65,000 to 325,000—a five-fold expansion. ...............
That gang of 8 bill Cruz tried to amend by increasing H1b visas 5 fold also called for issuing 30 million green cards laden with legal benefits.

At the time Cruz cited a study by the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, which found that immigrants with advanced degrees “boost employment for US natives.”’

Cruz ought to put his faith in more reliable sources.

The “American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank” performed the study referenced in this article:

The study (IMMIGRATION AND AMERICAN JOBS} was performed by:

About The Partnership for a New Economy:

The Partnership for a New American Economy is a coalition of business leaders and mayors launched by Michael Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch to influence public opinion and policymakers toward comprehensive immigration reform. “The partnership will enable Mayors and CEOs to demonstrate to policymakers the vital role that immigration plays in our economy by publishing studies, conducting polls, convening forums, and sponsoring public education campaigns.”[1] Among other goals, the partnership will pursue Congress and the White House to enact legislation which will create “a path to legal status for all undocumented immigrants now in the United States”.[2] The partnership will seek to influence “by publishing studies, conducting polls, convening forums, and sponsoring public education campaigns”.[1]

I don’t trust any of these people. ALL of them have a history of pro-amnesty statements. NONE of them expressed any concern about the negative effects of legal immigration until the campaign started.
