cnbc says now is a good time to buy.depends. if you are young and somehow have money to invest ... then I might wait for it to settle a bit more and then buy. Of course if one expects the market to always go up and never correct or crash they should not invest at all

Why not put a hedge on? Why take a potential 68% hair cut? You could start the road back at a higher level. There are pros who know how to do that commensurate with the size of your position.
