What he's doing in Dubuque is only the beginning.

In Dubuque and at all rallies around the country, his team is signing up county precinct captains, organizers, and volunteers who will organize and then spread out and bring in voters from other candidates and parties (as well as those who don't usually vote).

His team and Trump himself will build his organization until it reaches a crescendo at the Cleveland convention.

From the convention until the General Election will be a cake walk.

Well, that is one aspect of which I’d not thought about much. Maybe there is something to the “nonaligned Dem Voter” theory... I certainly think there are probably some blue collar DEMs out there who feel they’ve been had by Dem Status Quo..... thanks.

The antics establishment Republicans went through, including the DC traitors, to keep Cochran in the US Senate was the breaking point. The only reason the 'pubs overwhelmingly won in November is they promised voters to be on our side.

Putting Boehner back in as Speaker was proof positive they were bare-assed lying. And the party elite are SURPRISED that we're mad-as-hell?

I’m greedy. I want Cruz for a lifetime appointment to the SCOTUS. His talent would have decades of influence on the enforcement of laws. Much more than as president

I think I know what it is. He speaks well.

Last weekend, someone here posted a “What’s your favorite Western movie?” thread as a distraction from the many Trump threads and it got me thinking about politics and daydreaming about Westerns.

When it comes to our politics, color me disgusted.

Watching how the progressive GopE and the one-stream media play politics kinda reminds me of playing cards with Johnny Tyler in the movie Tombstone. Who needs it/why bother, right?

I had already folded, cashed out and was on my way to the bar for a drink while daydreaming about finding one of those Keno girls I’ve heard so much about and see if that thing about chrome trailer hitches is true.

Then Trump sits down at the table and the scene in my daydream suddenly changes.
Now we’re outside and Wyatt Earp has had enough:

Wyatt Earp: [Tyler reaches for his gun] Go ahead, skin it! Skin that smokewagon and see what happens...
Johnny Tyler: [pauses, scared] M-mister, I'm gettin' tired of your...
Wyatt Earp: [slaps Tyler across the face, unafraid] I'm gettin' tired of all your gas, now jerk that pistol and go to work!
Wyatt Earp: [slaps him harder, now completely steely-eyed] I said throw down, boy!
Okay, I don't know what that all means, but I understand it.

It's only about 1 degree of separation and just a few miles south, southwest of authentic frontier gibberish expressing “a courage little seen in this day and age.”

And then when my daydream clears a bit, it’s Trump, not Earp, and he’s spouting his very own Trump brand of authentic frontier gibberish.

Strangest political daydream I’ve ever had, but I kinda like it and two things are very clear.

First, just like in Tombstone, the Johnny Tyler players understand authentic frontier gibberish.

And, second, whatever it was Earp/Trump said, there is no doubt in the Johnny Tyler minds he means it.

Well, well…is that fear?

Huh…now there’s something you don’t see every day.

I think I’ll hang out at the bar a while longer and watch a few hands.

Club soda, please. That Keno girl can wait.

If Jeb loses the big money bettors, that’s the end. They’re the only ones propping him up. If they dry up the funds you’ll start hearing stories about campaign shakeups, a refocusing on core values etc...before he bows out and backs one of the other GOPe candidates (Kasich or less likely, Walker).

Other factors to consider: Very young first-time voters. The other candidates (both parties) aren't even getting a plausible message out there to attract them.

On the other end of the age spectrum is Trump's peers and older. We're being shafted by the economy. We're disgusted with how different the US is from what we expected in our youth. We grew up with Trump-type humor and outspokenness, and don't like the politically correct garbage. And we vote.

powered by his personal celebrity

This is one of those lies the MSM is telling themselves. If Trumps popularity was simply powered by his celebrity, his head fake last time would have pushed him into running. It's not the celebrity, it's the energy and the message.

Even his own Right To Rise SuperPac is bailing on Jeb.

Two weeks ago, they said they were going to spend $15 million dollars on ads for him in IA, SC and NH starting in 2 weeks.

Now they’ve cut that back to $32,500!

Wow...just think of the goodies ¡Jeb!’s treasurer (Charlie Spies - guy who was McRomney’s treasurer) will get to dole out, with all of the left over millions.

Not a bad gig, if you can get it. Maybe the Clinton-Bush fund will get a nice, big donation, soon :-/

Trump - the ONLY candidate who isn’t beholden, or financially tied to, any super pac, or lobbyists.

The more Trump speaks, the more one can tell he is a very intelligent man. We could do worse.

I’m a strict social conservative, and I’d love nothing more than to put many issues to rest, but I have to face reality .... At least half this country does not agree with me .... I’d rather live, not starve, and live to fight another day rather than hand any election over to another democrat for another 8 years....

None of the other republicans can handle what we’re up against .... Only Trump seems to have the brains, the mouth, and the hubris to do it at this point. He’s brash, but I feel it would be a mistake to not allow him to at least take a stab at it. .. This country needs someone who knows how to be successful. We need someone to help us reverse the tangled up mess that we’ve allowed liberals to make over the past 40 years....

Agreed. The GOP squandered the congressional mandates the voters gave them in 2010 and 2014. They decided to trade offices and conduct business as usual amongst themselves.

Now they are reaping the whirlwind that is Trump.

A right leaning populist will walk away with this thing. No matter who it is.

Even a left leaning Populist. I've been saying for four years that Liz Warren is the Democrats' gal. 2016 was due to be a populist showdown. The firecracker was lit when nobody was really held accountable for the 2008 fiasco.

Someone who promised to close the borders AND flog bankers on live TV would capture 75% of the vote.
