Trump fires back: Megyn Kelly not a 'quality journalist'
The Hill ^ | August 25, 2015 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 08/25/2015 12:02:07 PM PDT by maggief

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump fired back at Fox News on Tuesday after the network's head and several of its star personalities criticized him in an ongoing feud over anchor Megyn Kelly.

The celebrity real estate tycoon said he "totally" disagreed with a statement from Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes that defended Kelly's "tough but fair" questioning of Trump at the GOP debate Aug. 6.

"I do not think Megyn Kelly is a quality journalist. I think her questioning of me, despite all of the polls saying I won the debate, was very unfair," Trump said in his statement, reiterating past criticisms of the host.

"Hopefully in the future I will be proven wrong and she will be able to elevate her standards to a level of professionalism that a network such as FOX deserves," Trump added in the statement.

A slew of Fox News hosts and personalities slammed Trump after he reignited a feud with the network and its star anchor Monday night, when Kelly returned to the airwaves following a 10-day vacation.

Trump shared several tweets critical of the female host, including one referring to her as a "bimbo."

That set off a series of social media responses from several of her colleagues, including Bret Baier, who told Trump to move on, and Sean Hannity, who told the businessman to "leave @megynkelly alone."

Ailes also issued a lengthy statement Tuesday defending Kelly from Trump's criticism:

“Donald Trump's surprise and unprovoked attack on Megyn Kelly during her show last night is as unacceptable as it is disturbing. Megyn Kelly represents the very best of American journalism and all of us at FOX News Channel reject the crude and irresponsible attempts to suggest otherwise.

"I could not be more proud of Megyn for her professionalism and class in the face of all of Mr. Trump’s verbal assaults. Her questioning of Mr. Trump at the debate was tough but fair, and I fully support her as she continues to ask the probing and challenging questions that all presidential candidates may find difficult to answer.

"Donald Trump rarely apologizes, although in this case, he should. We have never been deterred by politicians or anyone else attacking us for doing our job, much less allowed ourselves to be bullied by anyone and we’re certainly not going to start now. All of our journalists will continue to report in the fair and balanced way that has made FOX News Channel the number one news network in the industry.”

Despite doubling down again on his criticism of Kelly, Trump also suggested that he may be ready to move on from the public dispute, saying "more importantly" he was pleased to see several new polls showing him in the lead.

"I will be in Iowa tonight with my speech being broadcast live on CNN and other networks," Trump concluded. "My sole focus in running for the Presidency is to Make America Great Again!"

‘Why is he so obsessed with her? Melania should be jealous if she still has any interest in Trump. He’s in love with Megyn.’

Stupidest post on the thread.

It should have been obvious for the last 10 years-—as O’R stated “French Youths” instead of the Truth (Muslim Youths)—that “Fox News” and those who control EVERYONE who is given a position on their “Program” (to program) ——that they have to promote the proper emotions-—and perceptions in the masses.

As Ray Bradbury stated-—TV is ALL White Noise to addict and distract-—as we get taken down the rabbit hole. (a dog and pony show only-—like the bread and circuses of Rome).

Fox “News’ is the “Right” side of the Dialectic Materialism which has been forcing us into a totalitarian, Marxist (irrational) State to destroy the Christian Worldview in our children (going on for a hundred years)-—which the SCOTUS ruling established with the ejection of the Christian Worldview (our Justice System) to the demonic, Marxist, satanic ethics of sodomy “Rights” (Afghani/Samurai Ethics) and establishing sodomy as a Virtue in our so-called “Justice” (queen of virtue) System.

Now Vice is Virtue, males and females are interchangeable, males are women, Christians are haters and bigots, Truth is Lies repeated and normalized-——etc. etc.

It is all to keep us irrational-—away from Truth-—so children remain so ignorant of Truth/God/Reality-—that they are easily controlled and so dumb about Natural Law (Common Sense) that they will believe anything the State tells them-—like “snow is black” (Fichte 1810).

Kelly’s embracing sodomite “marriage”proved she not only is irrational and doesn’t understand biology/Science/Truth and Natural Law Theory (basis of our jurisprudence system) but she admitted that she is so irrational, she endorses Satanism-—or Lucifer-—whomever you choose-—the idol of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. She is proving she is ignorant or DUMB-—or a tool of Satan. I take the latter, since she used Alinsky tactics on Trump in her “brilliant” journalistic approach to Trump. LOL.

But what has Trump done for the Conservative Movement over the years? Answer: Exactly nothing.

The Trumpettes don't want to hear that. It's all about what he says now, forget his RECENT history of being a liberal on many, many issues (NO, he is no Reagan). Even now Trump thinks single payer socialist health care is working great in Canada and really terrific in Scotland.

People see what they want to see in Trump, not what is really there. His abrasive, obnoxious shtick will wear off. The guy is making it up as he goes along. He's this years Herman Cain, only he's had years in the spotlight so he gets far more free media attention.

The Trumpettes that think Trump is going to force Megyn off the air or otherwise do any damage to her are dreaming. Long after Trump has imploded, Megyn Kelly will still be on the air garnering record ratings.

Yes, I’m a liberal troll because I oppose Trump because I think he’s a liberal democrat posing as a faux-conservative populist. Brilliant.

Trump is correct on her being a serious journalist... serious journalists don’t joke, giggle and laugh 80 percent of their time on the air.. Compare her with Huntley/Brinkley and you’ll see what Trump is saying.. not in the same universe

Kelly’s election night broadcasts are almost unwatchable and her debate questions are unprofessional.. you knew when she promoted her upcoming debate questions for over a week she wasn’t going to be asking policy questions but was scheming gottcha personal questions..

hey Donald you said once that a competitors building looked ugly.. what do you say to that?.... Hey Mitt what do you say about putting your dog on the roof of your car?.. Donald you threw mud on a girl in 2nd grade what do you say about that?.. that’s the kind of debate questions Kelly spends weeks on trying to come up with

As long as Trump’s still a billionaire, Melania’s still as interested as she ever was.

“I will be in Iowa tonight with my speech being broadcast live on CNN and other networks,” Trump concluded.

That’s funny.

Politicians go after other Fox “journalists” all the time and I don’t see Ailes or anyone else telling the guy to “move on”. Jon Stewart as always on O’rielly’s butt. And I hate Ego-rielly.

Politicians go after Hannity and Ailes doesn’t say anything.

Politicians were ruthless against Palin and what did Ailes do? Refuse to renew her contract. He sure didn’t defend her.

Obviously, Kelly is going to struggle to get her ratings back and Trump tweeting about her isn’t helping.

‘I think it is criminal to give money to the Clintons.’

I think it’s criminal to throw open the borders, extend the welcome mat, and treat the invading horde better than American veterans—along with all other Americans with the exception of the Permanent Political Class—are treated.

One crime we can survive. One we can’t.

Precisely.

The Trump movement to me has all of the markings of a cult of personality.

They don’t want any criticism of him at all, his inflated ego, his past policy positions, his donations to the Democrats, his close association with the Clintons.

They don’t want any tough questions from the press.

Megyn was the bully in this debate. Very unprofessional and disgusting. Will never watch her show again. She should be fired.

Faux News hires journalists? Who knew?

I don't like Fx Mews anymore, either; but I do know of them having (maybe by accident) a couple of real bloodhounds: Jennifer Griffin, Catherine Harridge, Harris Faulkner (note, all females, what's up w. that?) -- these are the real deal. But wow! Howdy Doody (AKA Shep Smith), O'Really, Megyn, and when they put Frank Puntz on with his focus groups -- I break my ankles running for the remote.

If I was Trump and she asked me a question at the next debate I’d say “Sorry. I only take questions from journalists. But I will use my time as I see fit.”

I would rather Trump let it go, he’s done more than adequate damage to her and Fox.

Bingo
Time to let it drop.
I loved the way he went after her, she deserved it but it's getting old. He made his point.

Drop it.

I didn't watch her often and thought she was at least right leaning. Wrong !!
What catty, nasty moderating. Trying to make a name for herself. She did. Not a good one .

Kelly lost my viewing her as well. I lost all respect for her when she did a “Gotcha” on Trump. I’m learning to hate the media as much as politicians.
