I read the headline and had two thoughts: I hope they aren’t black students and they probably aren’t black students with a telescooe in Fargo.
Fully automatic, with target acquisition and tracking.
Criminal Justice majors seem to have particular trouble with the restrictions imposed by the Constitution.
In short, a Liberal Arts Degree is as useful as teats on a boar hog.
In a larger town, such as Chicago the boys would have been shot first then when their parents came out to see what was going on, mom and dad would have been thrown violently to the ground and arrested and kicked a few times before the cops “discovered their mistake” and dropped their extra gun on the ground and a baggie for good measure.
What caliber is the gun the fellow is carrying in that picture?
I had a similar, but not as severe, as a teen and amateur astronomer. In that case the officer just shined a light from his car at me, and did apologize after seeing it was a lanky nerd with a scope.
In his defense there were a couple of gun shot sounds that went off about 30 mins before, that I heard and brushed off because I wasn’t going to pass on a clear night. Teen astronomy nerds are hard-core like that, yo.
Dog shooting seems to have gone out of fashion or is at least reduced in frequency.

If you look carefully at the criminal’s picture you will see the word “paintball” posted on the trunk of his car....obviously some kind of cult member who has done this before
and his buddies (obviously undercover types) ride BLACK MOTORSCOOTERS !!!

Some years back, campus cops called the local police when they saw a procession on campus, led by a guy with a naked sword. (It was the local Masonic Lodge.) The SWAT team showed up, all ready to start shooting. THEN someone called the sheriff, who happened to be a Lodge Brother...
A mass slaughter was averted, but only just.
Think about getting hit by a paintball from that “gun” the boy is toting.
